Streams Charts sums up April 2023 on Twitch. Last month, the platform's viewers actively followed the League of Legends and CS:GO esports tournaments, and spent a lot of time watching travel blog broadcasts by Jinnytty. The Kings League midseason broadcasts also attracted a lot of attention — preparations for the second season of the media-football league are in full swing.
Most Watched Twitch Categories of April 2023
The Dota 2 category has grown a little thanks to tournaments and patch 7.33
Just Chatting became the most popular category on Twitch in April 2023. It racked up 243 million Hours Watched over the month, down 11.5% from March. Overall, almost all of the platform's categories slipped slightly in this metric.
Grand Theft Auto V and League of Legends retained their spots in the Top 3, although they lost 4% and 14.5%, respectively, of their March HW numbers. Riot Games' MOBA drop was attributed to the fact that most franchise leagues ended back in the first half of the month.

CS:GO showed the greatest growth among the categories in the Top 10. In April, Valve's shooter racked up 80.1 million HW, up 21% from the previous month. The audience reach increased thanks to the active esports scene. Recall that IEM Rio 2023 took place in April, as well as regional qualifiers for BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023.
The only newcomer to the Top 10 is Rust. In April, the game amassed 28.9 million HW, thanks largely to the activity of Japanese streamers. In May, there will be a Twitch Rivals Rust tournament featuring top streamers, so the popularity of the category on the platform is likely to grow.
Most Watched Twitch Channels of April 2023
The ranking of the most watched channels has undergone several changes. First of all, Kings League, last month's leader, left the Top 10. This is not surprising, because the Spanish media-football league is currently on season break.
Canadian streamer xQc became the leader of the list with 15.1 million HW, 17% more than in March. Next to him is Gaules, a Brazilian CS:GO streamer.
Japanese streamer fps_shaka moved up to number three with 9.46 million HW. He broadcast a lot of Rust in April as well as Valorant and League of Legends. Tarik, the most popular Valorant community caster, slightly improved his position in the ranking.
The official ESL_CS:GO channel gave way to the ESL_Dota2 channel, which covered DreamLeague Season 19 and the ESL One Berlin Major 2023 Group Stage matches. In total, the Dota 2 channel accumulated nearly 7.3 million HW.
Other changes in the Top 10 included the exit of loltyler1 and KaiCenat. Their places were taken by IlloJuan and HasanAbi, who both accumulated just under 6 million HW in April.
The U.S. has the most representatives in the Top 10
If we had removed the channels of tournament operators and organizations from the ranking, the American streamer summit1g would have risen to the Top instead of the ESL_Dota2 channel. He played CS:GO for the entire month of April and also spent some time playing World of Warcraft.
Most Watched Female Twitch Streamers of April 2023
The leader among female streamers has been changing for several months in a row
Korean female streamer Jinnytty became the most watched female streamer on Twitch in April 2023. She spent the last month actively traveling around Southeast Asia, visiting the sights of Japan, Thailand, and other countries. As a result, her travel blog helped the channel accumulate 1.5 million HW.
Another popular female streamer from South Korea, saddummy, moved up from fifth to second place in April. It is interesting that she accumulated the same number of HW as she did the month before.
Mexican female streamer Rivers_gg rounds out the Top 3. She was at the top in March, but since then her channel has lost nearly a million HW. This is one of the biggest drops among the channels in the Top.
Interestingly, while only two female Korean content creators made it to the Top 10 in March, five female content creators from that country were able to do so by the end of April. Taking a broader view, there are as many as seven female streamers from South Korea in the Top 12. They mostly host talk shows, and they also often play Minecraft.
