Streams Charts has compiled a rating of the most popular Twitch streamers in the first quarter of 2023. Content creators from North America, Europe, and Brazil made the list, actively covering esports, participating in entertainment show tournaments for Minecraft, and hosting award ceremonies for streamers.
American streamer Kai Cenat became the most popular Twitch streamer in the first quarter of 2023, accumulating 52.4M Hours Watched in three months, which is 70% more than in the fourth quarter of 2022. Kai's streams are always lively and fun, and he enjoys communicating with his audience, inviting popular guests to his shows, and collaborating with other content creators. In February, Kai hosted a 28-day Mafiathon marathon, during which he gained over 300K subscribers to his channel, setting a record since the platform's launch.
Canadian creator xQc, one of Twitch's most popular streamers in recent years, claimed the second spot in the ranking. In the first quarter of 2023, his channel accumulated 39.8M Hours Watched. At the beginning of the year, he played a lot of Minecraft and Rocket League, and one of his streams for Hogwarts Legacy drew 129.2K Peak Viewers, which is xQc's best result for the quarter.
Q1 2023 was a huge success for Kai Cenat
Third most-watched streamer is Gaules, top Brazilian CS:GO caster. At the beginning of the year, he actively covered the ESL Pro League Season 17, BLAST Premier Spring, IEM Katowice 2023, and other tournaments. In total, his channel gained 26.1M Hours Watched.
Spanish streamer Ibai took fourth place in the ranking with a result of 21.4M Hours Watched. In the first quarter of the year, his channel featured a lot of entertainment and esports content. He closely followed matches of his own team KOI in the European League of Legends league, participated in Minecraft show events, and also broadcasted matches of Kings League, a Spanish media football league he co-founded.

American streamer tarik devoted most of his streams to Valorant, including coverage of tournaments in the discipline. He was one of the most popular streamers at VCT 2023: LOCK//IN Sao Paulo, as well as covered VCT Challengers. In total, Tarik's channel gained almost 21M Hours Watched, which allowed him to make it to the top 5 of our quarterly ranking.
Channels from the second half of the ranking were very close to each other it terms of total watch time. Brazilians Paulinho o Loko and LOUD Coringa made it to the top thanks to their RP content in Grand Theft Auto V. American streamer Hasan regularly streamed in the Just Chatting section, where he discussed world news, politics, and other resonant topics. Spanish influencer Auronplay devoted most of his streams to Minecraft show events, while summit1g gained HW thanks to playing Escape from Tarkov and DayZ.
Spanish streamers top the list by peak concurrent viewership
The most popular stream in the first quarter of 2023 was held by the Spanish streamer Grefg. In late January, he organized Premios ESLAND, an award ceremony for Spanish-speaking streamers to honor their achievements throughout the year. Over 1.75M viewers watched the event on TheGrefg's channel.
In February, Ibai announced the participants of La Velada Del Ano III, a boxing show tournament among streamers and content creators. Over 802K Peak Viewers followed the stream simultaneously, making it second in the rating.
French streamer Shadoune666 managed to gather 708.5K Peak Viewers in March, which was a record for his channel. He was on hype thanks to his appearance in the final of the Squid Craft 2, a show event held in Minecraft. He lost to American streamer Sapnap (who also made it into the top with 297K Peak Viewers) in the final match.
4-6 places were taken by ElSpreen, Auronplay, and Rubius, who gathered 442K, 366K, and 361K Peak Viewers, respectively. Roier, who had 314K viewers at the peak, took 8th spot in the rating. All four streamers attracted a lot of viewers also thanks to the Squid Craft 2. Rubius set his record even before the start of the competition during the announcement of the participants.
Seventh place in the ranking was taken by QTCinderella from the United States. The only woman in our top gathered around 355K Peak Viewers in the first quarter of 2023. She managed to do this during the Streamer Awards 2023 ceremony, which she hosted together with Twitch.
The last place in the top for peak online viewership for the quarter was taken by Brazilian streamer Paulinho o Loko. In January, the streamer decided to host an entertaining stream during which he received a vulgar haircut live on air: around 267K viewers watched this.
