The much-anticipated The Streamer Awards 2023 was held over the weekend, with stars from the industry and the entertainment sphere present to receive awards, perform, and support those up for trophies. Eventually, Tenz walked away with the Gamer of the Year gong, while Kai Cenat was unsurprisingly handed the Streamer of the Year prize.
Other big winners on the night included Jerma985 (Legacy Streamer of the Year) and PaymoneyWubby (Streamers' Streamer Award), as the event returned bigger and better than ever, at least in presentation and run time. Streams Charts has crunched the numbers to bring to you statistical information on QTCinderella’s creation.
Including community casting, The Streamer Awards 2023 did 2.3 million Hours Watched, 580K Peak Viewers, and 426K Average Viewers, while the corresponding numbers for 2022 were 1.3 million, 381K, and 276K, respectively. There was a massive spike in viewership this year, by 176%, 152%, and 154%, respectively, despite the difference in Airtime being quite negligible.
This can be attributed to the fact that, as already mentioned, there was official community casting allowed in 2023, while in 2022, it was only streamed on QTCinderella’s Twitch channel. Names like MissMikkaa and MoistCr1TiKaL, alongside dozens of other streamers who adhered to the rules, were allowed to broadcast the awards simultaneously show to their thousands of fans.
The live in-person function for 2023 was co-hosted QTCinderella and Valkyrae, starting with the red carpet event followed by the main awards show.
Awards show stream helps QTCinderella's Twitch channel soar
In terms of the creator’s channel, it did 1.4 million HW, 354K PV, and 170K AV at The Streamer Awards 2023. Apart from the watch hours, the other two metrics did not match the stats from last year, meaning the 2022 live stream remained her biggest to date in terms of Average Concurrent Viewers, with this year’s iteration in second place.
In 2023, QTCinderella’s Twitch channel was not marked by high activity. Before the event, her streams were watched by an average of 4.7K viewers, and her peak broadcast was with 27K people. It expectedly brought a significant jump in statistics.
In terms of Audience size, 2023’s Streamer Awards edition saw a 28.5% jump, from 617K to 793K, helping her gain 55K followers. She also spent a humungous $900,000 on this year's event, compared to $200,000 in 2022, as she revealed herself while discussing the awards show with Maya Higa on a "Ban Appeals" live stream.
Another bright spot for QTCinderella after The Streamer Awards 2023 was the fact that it put her among the ten most popular channels on Twitch this year. With 355K PV, she was snuggly placed at eight on the standings, behind platform megastars like TheGrefg, ibai, and auronplay.
This shows the impact such events can have on a streamer’s numbers and their place on the website’s hierarchy. The award show’s creator was already one of the most famous figures on the purple platform, and its broadcast only helped her solidify her place among the absolute best.
Chat stats soar during the broadcast
QTCinderella’s The Streamer Awards 2023 had quite a busy chat, with all the metrics seeing a massive rise across the stream. Her chat engagement rate was a healthy 13.4%, meaning 13 in every 100 Authorized Viewers were actively messaging during the broadcast.
The total number of messages sent during the stream on her chart was 382K, while the Active Chatters' number was 79K. This meant she had 4.8 messages per chatter, including 43K chatters with 2+ messages.
The most used word in chat was wubby7, a PaymoneyWubby Subscriber Emote, which took up 6.55% of the total word count in the chat. This was because PaymoneyWubby ended up winning the Streamer’s Streamer Award, a special gong handed out by his peers. All this meant QTCinderella gained 19K subscribers, earning between $32K to $47K from the same.
The chat had 992K UAV and 162K Active users. There were also 991 cheer messages and 586 cheer chatters, while the most used Twitch emote was omegalul (51K mentions), followed by kekw (45K) and clap (34K).
The Streamer Awards 2023 stacked up pretty well against other events
When it comes to comparisons to other non-esports events, The Streamer Awards 2023 put in decent numbers. The Premios ESLAND 2023, the Spanish equivalent of this awards show, did 9.1 million HW, 1.75 million PV, and 1.4 million AV, while the recent Squid Craft 2, recorded 22 million HW, 1.6 million PV, and 1.1 million AV.
The much-talked-about Twitch Rivals Elden Ring Anniversary PvEvP ft. Mendo recorded 1.06 million HW. The Twitch 2023 Superstar Gathering, one of the biggest Taiwanese Twitch events, registered 68K HW, 19K PV, and 11K AV. Considering the popularity of these events globally, QTCinderella can be proud of her efforts and how well her creation went, although matching their numbers might not be a possible aim anytime soon.
Among esports events, The Streamer Awards performed really well, sitting as the second-most popular event. Only the recent VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo did better, while the awards show did better than the likes of popular tournaments like the Lima Major 2023, LEC Winter 2023, and the Six Invitational 2023.
Overall, this year’s show did pretty solid numbers, but it could not match the inaugural edition. However, given 2022 was the first time The Streamer Awards was being hosted, it is given that the hype and anticipation would have been at an all-time high. QTCinderella has done well to establish a reputed and much-loved function, and it can only go upwards hereon.
