Esports takes the spotlight in August 2026's YouTube Gaming rankings

Broadcasts of The International 2026 helped an official Dota 2 channel finish at the top of the organization rankings for YouTube Gaming in August 2026. The Esports World Cup 2026's impact was also felt, as studio channels of multiple prominent titles finished in the platform's top-ten most-watched list.

Among individual YouTube Gaming streamers, Darren "IShowSpeed" Watkins Jr. made a strong comeback to snap TheBurntPeanut's recent streak. Speed's Minecraft marathon alongside good friend Kai Cenat, which rivaled major esports events by watch time, played a big part in his journey back to the top of the platform's viewership peak for gaming.

Top YouTube Gaming organization channels, August 2026

The most-watched YouTube Gaming organization channel last month was the official dota2 channel with nearly 11.46 million Hours Watched (HW), almost twice the watch time of any other entry. The International 2026's livestreams accounted for most of this number, with the English-language channel also reaching a new record of 327.6K Peak Viewers during the Grand Finals between Team Spirit and PVISION.

MPL Indonesia represented Mobile Legends: Bang Bang on this leaderboard, with the official channel of the regional league of the same name racking up 6.19M HW. The month began with coverage of the Grand Final and Third Place Match of the MLBB Mid Season Cup 2026, before the focus shifted to the two main domestic competitions: MPL Indonesia Season 18 and MDL Indonesia Season 14.

As always, League of Legends had multiple entries on our rankings table in the form of LCK Tiếng Việt, LCK Global, and LCK-Carry. Representing top markets of the popular titles esports scene, they put up between 2.5M and 3.7M watch hours. Broadcasts were focused on the most prominent regional league on the annual LoL calendar: the LoL Champions Korea (LCK).

BLAST Premier covered matches from Counter-Strike 2's Bounty Summer 2026, while the official Esports World Cup channel gave fans an avenue to catch the various events held in August. They were joined by another channel broadcasting both EWC 2026 and regional action, PUBG MOBILE Indonesia, and the Japanese Minecraft content group Dozle (ドズル社).

The official Nijisanji (にじさんじ) channel also made a rare appearance in our monthly YouTube Gaming rankings with 3.19M HW. Livestreams of one of the VTuber agency's biggest annual events, Nijisanji Koshien 2026, played a major role in this climb up the ladder, as it brought together various top Virtual YouTubers for a rare crossover event.

Many of the most popular YouTube Gaming organization channels also made the watch time standings, led by MPL Indonesia and dota2. The official thegameawards channel finished third after reaching 319.6K Peak Viewers during its live broadcast of the Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026.

The official Fate/Grand Order channel also finished in the top five by peak concurrent viewers during its livestream of the Chaldea Broadcasting Station 11th Anniversary Special to celebrate the gacha mobile game's 11th anniversary.

The official Brawl Stars channel maintained its pattern of making these rankings during special streams, with its broadcast of details of the game's next update peaking at 191.2 viewers. It was joined by Flow Games, a Brazilian video gaming house news and review channel that hit 191K PV during the massively successful GTA VI gameplay reveal trailer.

Top YouTube Gaming streamers, August 2026

IShowSpeed reinstated his position as perhaps the most popular YouTube streamer today thanks to his latest video gaming collaboration with Kai Cenat. Their Minecraft marathon was a big reason the American star put up 16.6M HW, which represented a 55% rise in his monthly watch time compared to July 2026.

Speaking of Kai Cenat, his YouTube channel, Kai Cenat Live, also made its debut in this top ten leaderboard with 4.28M HW. He was joined by another American YouTube Gaming sensation, TheBurntPeanut, who was the only other entry to cross 10M watch hours in August 2026.

The trio of Raj "Snax Gaming" Varma, Yash "LoLzZz Gaming" Thakker, and Alexandre "Gaules" Borba also made it here thanks in part to coverage of EWC 2026 events for PUBG Mobile, Fortnite, and CS2. They also covered other events in their favorite games, with LoLzZz Gaming continuing to engage his fans with rank push livestreams in Battlegrounds Mobile India.

Three more VTubers — Subaru Ch., Pekora Ch., and エクス・アルビオ -Ex Albio- — also joined TheBurntPeanut in this top-ten table. Subaru held a 7 Days to Die challenge for the zombie survival game that attracted high engagement, while Pekora hosted the Hololive Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 Tournament 2026 involving other VTubers from the agency.

Ex Albio played a variety of games to keep things fresh for audiences. He also broadcast her gameplay of the VCR Rust, a private, invite-only gaming event where Japanese gaming groups VaultRoom and Crazy Raccoon host a custom Rust server for content creators.

Ludwig "Ludwig" Ahgren also made a comeback to these rankings, totalling 2.27M HW in August 2026. This represented a jump of 65% in his MoM watch time, aided by livestreams of his 100-hour Counter-Strike 2 marathon alongside members of The Yard podcast and Joshman that featured special rules and punishment segments. He also took his Streamer Games international in 2026, helping set new viewership records for the Olympics-inspired series.

The list of most popular YouTube Gaming streamers for August 2026 also has a familiar look about it. Sanjan "Cr7 HORAA" Gautam and Zay "Zay Casting Channel" Yar So both made it here thanks to their coverage of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and PUBG Mobile events at the Esports World Cup 2026.

VTuber Miko Ch. reached 116.8K Peak Viewers during her live broadcast on August 1. It was her 8th anniversary stream, and the hololive Virtual YouTuber announced her second solo concert, Blooming Parade!!, that will be held at the K-Arena Yokohama on October 29, 2026. She also revealed her second album, "Blooming Cinderella," and debuted her new original song "Sakimidare Apparade."

Star Indian gaming pro Jonathan "JONATHAN GAMING" Amaral remained in the top rankings after his BGMI crate opening stream peaked at around 114.8 PV viewers. He was joined by Ade "set1awanade" Pamungkas, who also covered the EWC 2026 but reached a higher audience peak when streaming matches of the MPL Indonesia Season 18 live.
