Twitch results of February 2023 — most popular categories, channels, broadcasts, and clip of the month

Twitch results of February 2023 — most popular categories, channels, broadcasts, and clip of the month

Streams Charts sums up the results of February on Twitch. KaiCenat, who surpassed xQc three times by Hours Watched, became the most popular streamer of the month indisputably. As for the category rankings, we should note Hogwarts Legacy, while Ronaldinho's participation in Kings League helped the football media channel to renew its viewership record.

Just Chatting and League of Legends remained the most popular categories on Twitch in February, showing little change over the past month. The rest of the ranking changed more dramatically.

Valorant moved up from fifth to third position thanks to broadcasts of the VCT: LOCK//IN São Paulo tournament. The release of the long-awaited Hogwarts Legacy moved it straight into fifth place, with over 76 million Hours Watched and 1.27 million Peak Viewers in February.

CS:GO also slightly improved its result, rising from tenth to sixth place in a month thanks to the esports scene (particularly IEM Katowice 2023 and ESL Pro League Season 17 tournaments). Apex Legends experienced a similar situation: ALGS: Split 1 Playoffs Finals and the start of Season 16 placed the game in seventh place, despite its previous ranking outside of the Top 10.

We should also note that Escape From Tarkov and Call of Duty: Warzone dropped out of the Top 10 in February. Other categories in the Top 10 did not see such significant changes. Minecraft experienced a huge Peak Viewers growth (from 687K to 1.67 million) — this happened on February 28, the first day of the SquidCraft 2 event.

KaiCenat, an American content creator, became the most popular male streamer of February — he accumulated over 42 million Hours Watched in a month, which is three times more compared to his nearest pursuer in the ranking. The reasons for such a gap in the Top are very simple — throughout February KaiCenat was running a marathon stream called MAFIATHON, during which he communicated with the audience, invited celebrity guest singers to his shows, played GTA V and sports simulators, and also just slept.

Tarik, who was one of the most active Valorant community casters in February, is in third place in the ranking. Right behind him is Gaules — the Brazilian streamer has not been in the Top 10 for a few months, but managed to come back thanks to his broadcasts of big CS:GO tournaments.

Another interesting change in the ranking is JLTomy's tenth place — in early February, the French streamer started his subathon and was on air almost until the end of the month. He mostly communicated in Just Chatting and played a variety of games from GTA V to new releases like Hogwarts Legacy or Sons of the Forest.

If we had included channels of organizations and tournament operators in the Top, the ranking would have changed significantly. Thus, the third place would have been taken by the Kingsleague media football league channel. The channel, by the way, set a record for Peak Viewers in February — more than 900K people watched the game of Ronaldinho, the former player of the Brazilian national team.

Fourth place would have been taken by the official ESL_CSGO channel, which hosted the English-language broadcasts of IEM Katowice 2023 in February. The rainbow6 channel would have moved up to number eight, all thanks to Six Invitational 2023 World Championship broadcasts. Finally, the official LEC channel, which broadcast the League of Legends European league matches, would have rounded out the Top 10.

Most Watched Female Twitch Streamers of February 2023

Most Watched Female Twitch Streamers of February 2023

Rivers_gg has become the most popular female streamer for the second month in a row. In February, she increased her HW total by 28%, mainly thanks to broadcasts of Kingsleague matches. AMOURANTH ranks the closest to the content creator from Mexico, moving up from sixth to second place. Perhaps in March there will be a fierce competition between these female streamers for first place in the Top.

In general, female streamers were less active in February than in January. In the first month of the year, each of the female streamers in the Top 10 accumulated more than a million Hours Watched. In February, there were only three of them. Of course, February is the shortest month of the year, but it is shorter than January by only three days, and the number of Hours Watched among some female streamers in the Top fell by as much as 25%.

It is also worth noting that almost every female streamer in the February Top played a lot of Hogwarts Legacy. A game based on the Harry Potter universe brought many HW to their channels.

Most Popular Twitch Broadcasts of February 2023

Disclaimer: The ranking was based on one most successful broadcast per channel.

The most popular broadcast in February was the broadcast of the Kings League media football channel on February 26. The broadcast reached 908K PV, a record for the channel. This excitement was caused by the debut of Ronaldinho at the tournament — the former Barcelona star appeared in the Porcinos FC team, run by popular streamer Ibai.

Ibai is in second place — on February 27, more than 800K PV watched the announcement of the participants in the boxing tournament La Velada del Año 3. The event will be attended by top streamers, including two of the most popular Twitch female streamers — Rivers_gg and Amouranth.

Spanish streamer Rubius rounds out the Top 3 with an announcement of the participants in the new SquidCraft, a Minecraft event based on the popular Netflix series "Squid Game". This broadcast was watched by 361.2K PV

Most Popular Twitch Clip of February 2023

An episode from the GirlfriendReviews channel became the most popular clip of the month with over 693K views, becoming viral. It happened on February 7, when the channel's hosts Shelby and Matt were criticized by viewers for choosing to stream Hogwarts Legacy. The clip captures the moment when the streamers discussed whether or not they should stop streaming. The episode was later used in discussions about the legitimacy of negativity towards the game and writer Joanne Rowling in particular. We should remind you that previously some Internet users called for a boycott of Hogwarts Legacy because of Rowling's past remarks about LGBTQ people.
