In early March 2020, the release of Call of Duty: Warzone battle royale from Activision took place. Initially, the game was a multiplayer addition for Modern Warfare, which was released a few months earlier, but later the developers turned it into a separate title.

Now Activision is developing Warzone alongside the last part of the Call of Duty franchise called Black Ops Cold War. In December 2020, the developers combined the shooters, synchronizing all the content and player progress.

With the release of Warzone, players' interest in the battle royale genre has skyrocketed. The shooter from Activision instantly caught up with the popularity of PUBG, Apex Legends and Fortnite and took a significant part of the audience away from Modern Warfare.

At the moment, Warzone remains one of the most popular categories on Twitch, including among players from the CIS. While esports competitions are more popular in Modern Warfare, events organized by enthusiasts are in great demand in the royal battle.

In the new material, Streams Charts will tell you about the most popular community tournaments on Warzone, held in the second quarter of 2021, and their viewer activity.

Call of Duty: Warzone Community Tournaments Statistics

In the second quarter of 2021, 18 Call of Duty: Warzone community tournaments were held. As a rule, such events are organized by popular streamers who invite either other content makers or their viewers to them. The prize pool at these competitions varies from several thousand to tens of thousands of dollars.

The most popular community tournaments on Call of Duty: Warzone are among the English-speaking audience. In the second quarter of 2021, viewers of English-language broadcasts generated 9.48M Hours Watched — 92.67% of the total amount of time spent on competition streams.

In second place was the Portuguese-speaking audience, which got 291.7K HW (2.85% of the total HW). The top 4 for this indicator also included viewers of Italian-speaking (1.08% of the total time) and Spanish-speaking (1.04% of the total time) broadcasts.

English-language streams with 198K concurrent viewers also became the leaders in Peak Viewers at community tournaments. They are followed by Portuguese-language broadcasts with 73K viewers at their peak.

The top five also included audiences of Italian, Russian and Spanish. The largest number of Hours Watched in the CIS is generated by the streamer and content maker of the NAVI esports organization Dmitry "Recrent" Osintsev, who regularly participates in Call of Duty: Warzone community tournaments.

The ranking was closed by viewers who speak German, French and Dutch. They had 16.1K, 9.1K and 951 PV.

The most popular community tournaments on Call of Duty: Warzone

Most watched Warzone community tournament in the second quarter of 2021 was the HusKerrs Howl Warzone Tournament with a prize pool of $300K. The event was held from May 24 to June 2, it was organized by a popular American streamer Jordan "HusKerrs" Thomas. The competition reached 2.35M HW in 31 hours on air.

Eight duets took part in the HusKerrs Howl Warzone Tournament. The team of streamers SuperEvan and DiazBiffle won the victory. HusKerrs and his partner Synfuhny came in second place.

In addition to the HusKerrs Howl Warzone Tournament, the Nadeshot Invitational Warzone and JGOD’s $100K Warzone tournament are in the top 3. The prize pool on each of them was $100K. The events collected 1.53M and 1.49M HW, but they stayed on the air for less — 12 and 26 hours, respectively.

TeeP's Trials $25K Warzone tournament (prize fund — $25K) and Odd Man Out Warzone Code Red (prize fund — $25K) finished in 4-5 places. The tournaments lasted 11 and 8 hours, collecting 578K and 570K HW.

Despite a large lead in terms of Hours Watched, the HusKerrs Howl Warzone Tournament lost to Nadeshot Invitational Warzone and TeeP's Trials $25K Warzone tournament in terms of peak viewership. For them this figure was 190.4K and 119.2K, and for the tournament from HusKerrs — 105K.

The HusKerrs Howl Warzone Tournament also lagged behind in peak viewership from the HusKerrs Howl Trios Tournament, another tournament hosted by Thomas. It is noteworthy that the competition was on air for only 5 hours.
