Kings League dominates livestreaming viewership in 2025 with its global expansions in Brazil and Europe

Kings League dominates livestreaming viewership in 2025 with its global expansions in Brazil and Europe

Back in 2023, Gerard Piqué and Ibai “ibai” Llanos transformed the livestreaming industry with their innovative Kings League. The stylised version of football is tailored to provide short, digestible chunks of exciting matches and has inspired a wave of new media football leagues around the world. In 2025, the Kings League remains the world’s forefront league of its kind and has expanded to many new regions in Europe and the Americas.

The seven-a-side football competition has captivated audiences with its unique blend of traditional football and livestreaming entertainment. Its inaugural 2023 Split was watched by millions of concurrent viewers at its peak, and its roots have spread around the globe since. 2025 marks an ambitious year for the circuit, following its successful expansion to the Spanish-speaking Americas with new leagues in Brazil, Italy, France, and Germany! Streams Charts has collected the viewership results of these new leagues, contextualising their viewership power.

In total, across its four inaugural splits in two regions and the established circuits in Spain and the Americas, the Kings League received 74.88M Hours Watched for its first Splits of 2025. For comparison, this is roughly analogous to the weekly watch time of the most-watched show on Netflix. The Peak Viewers (PV) for the Kings League was received at its Brazilian event, which jumped to the forefront of the circuit. Making tidal waves in its inaugural event, the Kings League Brazil generated a majority of the King’s League’s total watch time in 2025 so far.

The Kings League Brazil 2025 Split 1 received 1.95M Peak Viewers for its final match between Furia FC, ran by footballing sensation Neymar and Cris Guedes, and Dendele FC, whose chairpeople are Lucas “Luqeta” Gagliasso and Aliffe “Paulinho Loko” Henrique de Carvalho, both streamers with millions of followers.

While these two creators are undoubtedly popular, the most popular co-streamer of the event is not even involved in a team; Casimiro “CazéTV” Miguel is a Brazilian sports commentator and broadcaster who has made influential steps in cementing livestreaming as a medium for football broadcasting in Brazil. CazéTV’s coverage of the Kings League Brazil accumulated over 15M Hours Watched and reached over 772,000 PV for the grand final of Brazil’s inaugural Split.

While Brazil has cemented itself as the forefront region for the Kings League with its massive fan base of passionate football fans, other inaugural splits also hit the ground running this year. The Italian and French circuits managed to outperform both the established Spanish and Americas leagues in total watch time, having found significant hype behind their inaugural matches.

The Italian Kings League was perhaps a dark horse in this viewership race; in the livestreaming industry, both French and German audiences are generally more active than Italian-speaking ones. French and German usually receive a more significant portion of total Twitch viewership, and these audiences are also powerful footballing markets. However, the Kings League Italy 2025 Split 1 outperformed all other inaugural European events, reaching 11.66M Hours Watched and 384,478 PV.

The inaugural event for Kings League France fell just slightly behind the Italian circuit, with the French fans contributing just over 9M Hours Watched. However, the Kings League France 2025 and Kings League Germany Split were the odd-ones-out this year, live for only roughly 45 hours compared to the 90 hours of the Spanish, Italian, and Americas circuits. Taking airtime out of the equation, the average concurrent viewership for the Kings League France 2025 was actually much higher than that of the Italian circuit

The Kings League Germany 2025 Split 1 was, unfortunately, unable to find the same success the other inaugural leagues did. This is not to say Germany is not an attractive market for football media; in fact, quite the opposite is true. Just a year prior to the Kings League entering the German market, the Baller League was established in Germany. This circuit is similar in spirit to the Kings League, and has already snatched up many potential fans in the region. Indeed, the Baller League has found its own success, making the decision to expand to the United Kingdom and United States in 2025.

While the German circuit for the Kings League is struggling to find room in the DACH region, the other inaugural circuits for the Kings league across the globe were roaring successes, delighting millions of fans. On the other hand, the established circuits under the Kings League brand have struggled to maintain their viewership results over the years. For their first Splits of 2025, neither the Kings League nor Kings League Americas concluded with over 100,000 Average Viewers.

Kings League 2025 first split viewership of established leagues

The watch time results of the established Kings League circuits sets them behind every inaugural league, except for the German one. As the Spanish circuit enters its third year and the Americas league begins its second, the events are struggling to maintain their average viewerships throughout their entire seasons. However, the original Kings League did manage to reach 432,629 PV during the Kings League 2025 Split 5: the only Split of early 2025 to reach above 400,000 viewers, except the Brazilian outlier.

The Kings League’s expansions to new areas across the globe have been a resounding success. The established circuits of the league, while able to generate massive peaks when the hype is right, no longer generate the consistent excitement for each match they once did. The new, global expansion for the Kings League have seen it diversify its viewership source, potentially future-proofing the brand for years to come.

Starting in a couple of days at the beginning of June 2025, France will host the 2025 Kings World Cup Clubs, bringing together the top clubs from all Kings League circuits to compete in a 32-team brawl to decide the world champion. Keep an eye out for the viewership results of the opening days; if the event is able to correctly combine the international viewerships for the brand, the Kings World Cup Clubs this year could reach a multi-million peak viewership.
