Liverpool Football Club added another Premier League title to their legacy at the end of the 2024-25 season, lifting the trophy with four matches to go. This marked their twentieth top-flight title, equalling Manchester United’s record, and their second Premier League championship. The team’s previous Premier League title was marked with fans stuck at home during the COVID-19 lockdowns, but now, the Kopites got to celebrate in-person.
While Liverpool FC clinched the title back in April, they were only recently able to celebrate the result with the trophy. Their official Trophy Parade held on May 26 was streamed online for hundreds of thousands of fans, on top of being a fantastical spectacle for those in-person. On Liverpool FC’s official YouTube channel, over 217,000 Peak Viewers (PV) were recorded for the parade.
Unfortunately, the evening of the parade was marred by an incident after the stream finished. Several people were injured after a car drove into a crowd of celebrating fans leaving the parade. As of May 27, a British man in his 50s has been detained by the police and no fatalities have been recorded.
The broadcast of the parade not only received record-breaking PV for Liverpool FC’s channel, but it also was highly-watched on average: for the over five-hour broadcast, the stream maintained 174,000 Average Viewers (AV). This AV was also a channel record for Liverpool FC, far outperforming any other stream ever hosted on their channel.
The day before the parade, on May 25, Liverpool FC also set a previous PV record at 211,112 viewers for their full-time celebrations of the league. Before this, the channel’s previous record was reached only a week prior, for Jürgen Klopp's on-pitch farewell. The Liverpool FC channel has been breaking record after recording the wake of their phenomenal 2024-25 Premier League season, and the team behind the club will likely be hoping to capitalise on this with more streams, events, and fan interactions.
Comparatively, this parade was also more popular than the celebrations of other clothes. For their Europa League victory parade, Tottenham Hotspur received 108,427 PV, FC Barcelona received 83,660 PV for their La Liga victory parade, and FC Bayern München received 35,186 PV for their celebration of their 34th Bundesliga title. Above all these events, Liverpool FC enjoyed by far the largest online support from fans.
