CDawgVA sets new personal peak concurrent viewership record during charity auction

CDawgVA sets new personal peak concurrent viewership record during charity auction
Share:

CDawgVA has been having a good 2023, with a high point being his cyclethon in March alongside fellow content creator AbroadInJapan, with the duo raising $550K for the Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF) in a noble cause. Incidentally, the last day of this exercise became his most popular broadcast to date while also helping him to reach one million followers on the purple platform.

However, a broadcast yesterday — another one to help with charity — has shattered that record and made his year even better. The 26-year-old had partnered with Ludwig’s Offbrand to hold an auction for IDF and Make-A-Wish America, with the former raising $329K and the nonprofit organization that helps fulfill the wishes of children with a critical illness between the ages of 2 and a half 2 and 18 years receiving $14K in donations.

CDawgVA, whose real name is Connor Marc Colquhoun, streamed the charity auction on his Twitch channel, and it ended up hitting 77K Peak Viewers, which obliterated his previous record from the cyclethon by 134.2%. It also hit 64K Average Viewers, another high for his channel by 183%, with the final record being the number of followers he gained from a broadcast — 10K.

The goodwill event had Cash App, Elgato, and Apari as partners, with some prominent names from the streaming world present, including Twitch superstar HasanAbi and YouTube megastar Valkyrae. At the end of it all, with substantial amounts raised for the two charities, the Denbigh, Wales-born streamer burst into tears and thanked the streaming community for their support, saying:

"I guess, this is the part where I didn't plan it out. I should've had a script. But, I genuinely want to say, thank you. I really, really appreciate people coming here. Why am I tearing up now?! Oh! I'm just going to cry. Thank you to everyone who's come to support this."

In terms of chat analytics, the record stream had 197K total messages for a great chat engagement rate of 9.2% across the five hours and 15 minutes of its runtime. He also gained 1.4K subscriptions and earned between $2.5K and $3.6K in the process.

There were 48 cheer messages and 36 cheer chatters, with the total bits spent and income from bits being 6.7K and $67, respectively. The top five words in the Twitch chat were ironmousewiggly (35K), ironmouseletsgo (26K), https://obp (22K), ironmouseraid (22K), and ironmouselove (17K).

Four are emojis for the highly-popular ironmouse, diagnosed with common variable immunodeficiency (CVID), an immune disorder that has left her mostly bedridden. The last one is the link that took fans and viewers to the official merch store of CDawgVA, with the sales revenue going to the two charities in question.

CDawgVA, also a professional voice actor, is known for his charitable endeavors and has become popular among fans for this habit. Having risen to prominence in 2021, he has become a favorite in the Just Chatting genre, although he keeps blessing fans with gameplay streams of various titles, including Apex Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Jump King, and Elden Ring.

About Ludwig and Offbrand

Ludwig co-founded Offbrand, a creative agency, alongside his friends to help other content creators organize their events and solidify his post-streaming career. Recently, as part of its expansion, the company made multiple new signings and added a new vertical to its operations.

This hiring spree included the much-loved Jeremy “Jerma” Elbertson and members of the now-defunct esports tournament organizer, Beyond the Summit. The former joined as the Chief Creative Officer, although he has not stopped streaming, much to the relief of his fans.

From BTS, David “LD” Gorman and Daniel Najarian signed up to head a separate vertical labeled Offbrand Productions staffed by former employees of the erstwhile organization. They have since conducted many events, like Ludwig’s Chessboxing event and the Ludwig x Tarik Invitational.

With the kind of response CDawgVA and his charity auction received, it makes sense that he will continue to host more such events in the future. And don't be surprised if Ludwig and Offbrand are part of that endeavor and more such activities to help bolster their portfolio.
