TwitchCon Paris 2023 is just around the corner. The event will be attended by numerous popular streamers from Europe and other regions, including invited guests from the United States. As part of the festival, the organizers will hold several Twitch Rivals show tournaments. Read more about them in the Streams Charts article.

On July 8, there will be Twitch Rivals: Fall Guys Showdown ft. ZeratoR — a Full Guys competition hosted by popular French streamer ZeratoR. The event will involve 32 players competing for a prize pool of $20K. Teams of 4 players each will compete, and the team with the highest number of points and crowns will become the champion.

On the same day, the Twitch Rivals VALORANT Mode Mash-up will take place, where participants will compete for $50,000. Six invited teams will participate in the event, but no player was announced yet. To determine the winner, the contestants will play several matches in Team Deathmatch and Escalation modes.

On July 9, the Twitch Rivals League of Legends Showdown TwitchCon Paris will take place, where four invited teams will compete for a prize pool of $50K. The tournament participants will be announced closer to its start. So far, it is known that they will play in a single-elimination bracket with best-of-1 matches, and heroes will be chosen randomly.

The closing show event will be the Twitch Rivals Ultimate Challenge, Live from Paris. This series of tournaments is not tied to a specific discipline: usually, participants of the Ultimate Challenge compete in various mini-games, both on PC and in real life. For example, at TwitchCon Paris, they will have to craft a "baguette transportation cart," compete in cooking dishes according to recipes, complete special maps in Minecraft with famous landmarks in France, and so on. Traditionally, top streamers of the platform participate in Ultimate Challenge tournaments. The best of them will have the chance to claim a share of the $75K prize pool.

Twitch Rivals Tournament Schedule at TwitchCon Paris 2023:

  • July 9: Ultimate Challenge, Live from Paris — $75,000.

Most Popular Tournaments in TwitchCon History

Twitch holds TwitchCon festivals every year, and none of these festivals were complete without traditional show events, where popular content creators, star esports players, and invited participants competed with each other in various games. The competitions are always very diverse: from team battles in Fortnite to launching paper airplanes.

Top 5 most popular tournaments at TwitchCon

The most popular tournament in the history of TwitchCon festivals is the Twitch Rivals Fortnite tournament, which took place in September 2019 in San Diego. At that time, the Peak Viewers number reached over 214.5K people. It's worth noting that this happened during the peak popularity of Fortnite, just two months after the Fortnite World Cup, where a staggering $33.6 million was awarded. It was a period when the discipline was at the height of its popularity, which is why there were so many viewers on the stream. It should be recalled that many professional players and streamers participated in that event, including Bugha, NickEh30, CouRageJD, DrLupo, Myth, TSM_ZexRow, SypherPK, NICKMERCS, Tfue, Gotaga, TimTheTatmnan, and other content creators.

Twitch Rivals Apex Legends has become the second most popular tournament ever held during TwitchCon. The event called Europe Showdown 2019 took place in April in Berlin and attracted over 200K Peak Viewers. Such excitement can be explained by the fact that this was essentially the first major tournament for Apex Legends after the game's release. Among the participants were many professional players and well-known streamers, including xQc, Cooller, clawz, Cypher, dizzy, and others.

The Twitch Rivals League of Legends at TwitchCon in 2019 gathered 180.3K Peak Viewers. Interestingly, this tournament took place at the same location and on the same days as the leading Fortnite championship. Within the Twitch Rivals League of Legends event, two show matches were played: the first featured symbolic teams representing North America and Europe, while the second involved popular streamers such as Tyler1, Pokimane, LilyPichu, Yassuo, and others.

In October 2017, a show event called the H1Z1 Invitational at TwitchCon took place in California, where fans of battle royale games competed for a huge prize pool of $500K. The event featured several tournaments in different categories: for anyone interested, for professional players, and for popular streamers. DrDisrespect himself participated in the latter. The Peak Viewers number of the tournament reached 173.8K.

In 2022, TwitchCon San Diego concluded with the Ultimate Challenge Gauntlet, ranking among the Top 5 most popular show events of the festival with the Peak Viewers number of 164.6K. Unlike other tournaments, the Ultimate Challenge Gauntlet did not focus on a particular discipline — streamers competed against each other in various mini-games. For example, they built the tallest tower in Jenga, tried to toss ping pong balls into plastic cups, or flew paper airplanes closest to the target. There were other competitions as well, but for the most part, players were just fooling around, teasing each other, and trying to entertain the viewers. Many popular Twitch streamers participated in that TwitchCon as well, including Tfue, Disguised Toast, Tyler1, Sodapoppin, itsHafu, iiTzTimmy, Willneff, NickEh30, Nmplol, QTCinderella, Sasha Grey, and others.

It's worth noting that the Ultimate Challenge series debuted in 2021. It was first held in the United States as the Twitch Rivals Ultimate Challenge, Live from Vegas. This event became the most popular in terms of viewership, reaching 341.5K PV during the livestream. After that, Ultimate Challenge tournaments were held three more times — in Barcelona, Amsterdam, and San Diego.
