Drops arrive on Kick with new Rust campaign, a promising leap for the platform

Drops arrive on Kick with new Rust campaign, a promising leap for the platform

Kick, one of livestreaming’s fastest growing platforms and a global force in many regions, recently made the announcement that Drops are coming to its platform. This feature gained their fame on Twitch, where viewers can unlock promotional in-game items by watching broadcasts, something which often boosts viewership skyward for streamers and the game.

For their first-ever Drops integration, Kick chose to partner with Facepunch Studios, the developer of Rust. The game is highly popular on Kick thanks to its role-playing and sandbox elements, which make it a constant hit again and again with countless options for multiplayer mayhem. As part of the historic campaign, a 10-day Drops event on November 13-23 will offer exclusive items and rewards for viewers

The first-day statistics for Kick’s inaugural Drops campaign are promising to say the least. Not only did the category accumulate over 3,100,000 Hours Watched for the first days of the Drops campaign — more than the category has averaged monthly on Kick for the past three months, but it also set a new category record for Rust viewership on Kick. On November 13, just shy of 200,000 Peak Viewers tuned in to check out the special event — almost double of the previous record reached in June 2025.

Kick Drops Rust viewership statistics

Interestingly, the Drops system is quite dynamic, offering different items for watching specific streamers at any moment. Fans can check the official Facepunch page for the Kick campaign, which shows which items can be unlocked watching various streamers. The campaign has not only brought waves of viewers to Kick, but many streamers are enjoying strong waves of viewers in the form of Rust fans chasing the latest exclusive drop.

In the past, Drops have been something sorely missing from Kick’s armoury of engagement and activation, and for the future, this integration will likely generate waves of viewership for the platform. Drops have often helped set new game, category and streamer records on platforms like Twitch, and now, Kick’s eclectic and global collection of streamers can benefit from the same advantages on their home turf.

Keep an eye for the evolving viewership of Rust on Kick, it could well generate much more viewership and potentially even push its record viewership even higher.
