The live-streaming industry is always changing. New trends and games come and go, and streamers can quickly both rise and fall through the rankings. With the first quarter of 2024 behind us, Streams Charts has collated rankings for the fastest-growing streamers on both Kick and Twitch.
The first of these metrics is our Followers Gain metric, tracking the numerical increase to a streamer’s follower-count over a specific period. Secondly, we will also look through the fastest-growing streamers by the largest increase in average viewership for the quarter.
Across both platforms, Twitch was the more dominant of the two in terms of fast-growing streamers. In terms of pure numerical followers increase, Twitch streamers caseoh_ and Jynxzi stand at the top of the industry. The two Americans have been some of the most popular and fastest-growing channels on Twitch for a while now, and they continue their rapid expansion in the live-streaming industry. Jynxzi increased his follower count by 1.85M in one quarter, and caseoh_ by an even more impressive 1.9M Followers gained.
These streamers are also able to bring other streamers up along with them, such as thesketchreal. The Rainbow Six Siege content creator has been hosting streamers in collaboration with Jynxzi, Caseoh_, and other creators, and these have been his most popular content of the quarter by far.
Two other Americans ranked on this list: PirateSoftware and Lacy. PirateSoftware is a channel run by ex-Blizzard employee Thor, who also owns an indie game studio by the same name. With industry knowledge and a smart approach to using other social media to boost his brand, PirateSoftware has become one of 2023 and now 2024’s fastest-growing creators on Twitch.
Lacy is another American creator who has utilised collaborative content to grow his own brand. The creator has hosted multiple streams with various content creators throughout the year’s first quarter, the most popular of these featuring creators like Jynxzi and Clix.
The remainder of this ranking is quite international; leading the group, alondrissa of Puerto Rico garnered 362K new Followers in only three months. The streamer has been growing quickly since the beginning of 2024, and currently boasts 442K Followers as of April 18. All of their metrics show considerable growth, so expect this channel to become one of the fastest-growing Spanish-speaking channels in live-streaming this year.
Michou, an established French creator, has been growing his audience thanks to his new Dancing With Internet Stars series. Based on the wildly successful Strictly Come Dancing, the French program features content creators and internet personalities exclusively, with Michou as its host. Episode 1 on Twitch received over 403K Peak Viewers.
Imantado of Spain has been growing his content with Spanish-language GTA V role-play gameplay, one of the most lucrative trends in live-streaming at the moment. Sasavot has also been achieving significant growth thanks to his variety content, constantly playing different games and changing his content to keep his viewers entertained and engaged.
Our sole Kick streamer of the ranking, mellstroy271, garnered 261K new Followers in the first quarter of the year. The streamer has achieved this growth thanks to gambling-related content on Kick, and featuring other famous Russian-speaking internet personalities on his stream.
Turning to Average Viewers growth as a metric instead of pure followers gained, Twitch takes over the ranking entirely. Many of these streamers do not appear in the previous ranking, although there is a slight overlap.
Thesketchreal was the fastest-growing streamer by this metric, having achieved a growth of 1623% to his Average Viewers metric in one quarter alone. The American creator began collaborating with Jynxzi and other sizable creators in February, and his viewership took off into the stratosphere essentially overnight.
Professional Counter-Strike 2 player Donk was also one of the industry’s fastest-growing creators. Donk1221 on Twitch, the Russian continued his schedule of sporadically streaming high-level Counter-Strike PUGs and matches to his channel.
Although his content did not change, his popularity did. Early in 2024, donk put up mighty performances at both IEM Cologne and the Copenhagen Major. His dominant performance on stage made him a household name for Counter-Strike very quickly, and his growing popularity as a player was reflected by his growing popularity as a streamer. He recorded an increase of 1408% to his AV metric for Q1 of this year.
Another esports professional, Nili_AoE of Germany received an AV figure 1006% higher than Q4 of 2023. Nili is retired as a player, but still hosts his Apartment Cup for Age of Empires. The fifth edition of the cup took place at the beginning of 2024, taking place at esports organisation GamerLegion’s gaming house. Nili acted as the event’s host and commentator, and his personal Twitch channel received abnormally high viewership for this event compared to his usual content. At peak, the tournament received 27.3K Peak Viewers on Nili’s channel, becoming his most popular content ever.
Staying with esports events, genesisgg recorded a 941% increase to AV thanks to their Genesis X event. The organisation’s channel streamed their Melee event at Genesis X throughout mid-February. The Finals day of the event received 45K PV and 25K AV for an almost 12 hour broadcast, with this one singular stream lying at the root of their massively increased viewership.
Another fighting game esports-related channel, ArcSystemWorksU, generated their viewership thanks to the Arc World Tour 2023, which was actually held during March 2024. Arc System Works is a games company that has worked on some of the world’s most popular games, like Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball FighterZ. The company’s coverage of the Guilty Gear Strive tournament was their most popular content of the quarter, reaching 30K Peak Viewers.
Chilean BykingCL and Spanish DessT3 achieved their respective growths thanks to interesting IRL content, although DessT3’s content was based on GTA V roleplay. While Byking streamed real live streams throughout the quarter, DessT3 stuck to the GTA roleplay servers, which continue to be one of live-streaming’s hottest trends.
Finally, thek4sen of Japan took the final spot on our ranking. The Japanese creator is signed to ZETA DIVISION as a content creator, one of Japan’s most popular esports organisations, and uses this position to host some of the most popular Japanese League of Legends events. The streamer organised a League of Legends tournament named after himself, which took place throughout January, February, and April of this year. At peak, it received 17.9K AV, becoming his most-watched content ever.
