Fortnite is famous for its collabs with celebrities. We have already seen concerts of Travis Scott, Marshmello, as well as skins for Ninja, Loserfruit, TheGrefg, and other popular streamers. This time, Epic Games teamed up with singer Ariana Grande to host a concert as part of the Rift Tour.
In our new article, we will share the viewership statistics of the concert, how it performed compared to other Fortnite events, and whether it was able to overtake the epic event with Travis Scott on April 23, 2020.
The concert took place on August 6 and took 15 minutes. Everyone wanted to see the show, so it was held five times in different time zones. The very first concert attracted 1 million people at its peak. At the same time, more than half of the viewers watched the event on YouTube.
The Spaniard TheGrefg is the leader by Peak Viewers — 157K Peak Viewers on the broadcast. Ninja is in second place with 85 thousand viewers. SypherPK closes the top 3 with 23K viewers, but it is worth noting how big the gap between him and the owners of the first two positions.
We compared Ariana Grande's concert with other Fortnite events, namely how many viewers watched the events at the peak of the broadcast.
Although the Ariana Grande collab gathered 1M viewers, it couldn’t overtake the concert of Travis Scott, a famous American rapper. He was watched by 1,2M viewers. The very first Fortnite concert with American DJ Marshmello is in third place — 603K spectators.
These kinds of collaborations are beneficial for both Fortnite and celebrities. The game gets new viewers or users, and the star gets additional fame and earnings. So, according to rumors, Ariana Grande earned $ 20 million from this collaboration. Famous singers Dua Lipa and Halsey are said to be the next participants of the Rift Tour.
