Verification on Twitch is one of the key goals of many streamers. This purple icon next to the streamer’s name shows that your channel met the requirements to become a Twitch partner and that you follow the guidelines of the platform. In our article, Streams Charts will present you a small guide and tell you how to become Twitch verified, the requirements, benefits, and other features of Twitch verification.

What Is a Twitch Verified Badge

Firstly, let us show you how this badge looks like. The Twitch verified user badge is a purple octagon with a white checkmark inside. It appears right to your Twitch nickname in the upper part of your stream and under your broadcast window. This badge means that the streamer met all Twitch requirements and become an official Twitch partner.

Twitch Verified Badge was released in 2017 at the same time as the Twitch Affiliate program. The Twitch partners get the badge automatically, which signifies that they can officially make money from the platform. The main idea is similar to other socials as Instagram, Twitter, etc.

How To Get Twitch Verified

To get a Twitch Verified Badge, you need to fulfill the requirements of the platform.

Step 1 - Get Twitch Affiliate Status

The first step to become a Twitch partner and get verified is to earn the status of Twitch Affiliate.

To do this, you must meet all four requirements over a 30-day period. Twitch Affiliate Requirements in 2022 are:

  • Stream for a total of at least 8 hours;
  • Stream on at least 7 different days;
  • Have an average of 3 viewers;
  • Get 50 followers;

Step 2 - Path to Twitch Partner Status

After getting Twitch affiliate status, you must grow your audience and increase your activity on the platform to submit for Partner status. The Twitch Partner requirements in 2022 are:

  • Stream for a minimum of 25 hours in the last 30 days;
  • Stream on at least 12 different days for a 30-day span;
  • Have 75 viewers on average watching your channel during that time;

After you’ve met all the requirements to become a Partner on Twitch, you can apply for the status itself. The Twitch partner status isn’t given automatically as the affiliate, so maybe you’ll need some time to get it. Though don’t forget to follow Twitch’s TOS (Terms of Service) because if your channel gets a strike or a ban, there will be almost no chance to become a Twitch partner.

Step 3 - Get your Twitch badge and Partner status

If you fulfilled all the requirements and send your request to Twitch team, wait for their confirmation of your Twitch Partner status. After receiving it, you’ll obtain your Twitch Verification Badge and become officially verified on Twitch.

Conclusion

Before getting the Twitch badge, learn all the requirements to speed up the process. Also, get acquainted with Twitch’s Terms of Service and especially with part 9 about Prohibited Conduct. Knowing these rules will help you to avoid bans and strikes, as they’re the biggest obstacle to becoming a Twitch partner.
