Minecraft Live 2025 has finally arrived. The annual event, which unites countless fans of the game’s universe, delivered exciting announcements, including the launch of the Spring to Life event and the long-awaited visual upgrade. It was the most-watched gaming showcase of March and now ranks among the top three gaming events of the year so far.
Minecraft Live is now a twice-a-year event. The developers revealed that instead of dropping massive updates all at once, they’ll roll out content gradually, making room for more frequent news and improvements. The first mini-update, Spring to Life, launched on March 25, bringing new life to the Overworld. The timing for the second update and the next Minecraft Live in 2025 is still under wraps.
One of the show’s biggest reveals was Vibrant Visuals, the long-anticipated graphical update. While there’s no exact release date, Mojang assured players it’s coming in the next few months, first to Minecraft's Bedrock Edition, with Java Edition to follow. More details on the announcements can be found here.
Minecraft Live March 2025 was streamed on March 22, drawing an impressive live audience. The majority of viewers gathered on the official channel, which served as the main broadcast hub. At its peak, the stream surpassed 443,000 concurrent viewers.
The event drew a diverse audience. While English speakers comprised over 70% of the viewership, the event also saw strong engagement from Spanish, Russian, and German-speaking communities, as well as audiences from Poland, France, Korea, and Italy.
As for platform preferences, YouTube dominated with nearly three-quarters of the total viewership, while Twitch accounted for just under a quarter. Kick, on the other hand, made up less than one percent of the audience.
The first quarter of the year didn’t see a high number of major gaming or tech showcases, but the ones that did happen were significant. While Minecraft Live 2025 didn’t outdraw massively popular events like Pokémon Day or Sony PlayStation’s State of Play, it did manage to attract more viewers than Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025 and the highly successful Siege X presentation.
In terms of livestreaming performance compared to past editions of Minecraft Live, this one had an average showing, trailing behind most previous events. However, it did surpass last year’s edition in viewership, though it still fell 32% short of the record-breaking 2022 event.
