Since September 25, a majority of the Spanish-speaking community has been busy with an annual event that usually attracts healthy viewership numbers. It has been no different this time around, with the third edition of Dedsafio, a Minecraft event series that returns every year and puts its participants through some of the game's most difficult challenges.
It was during one of these live streams that Spreen reached a new milestone on his Kick channel. During an October 17 broadcast, the Argentine superstar reached 248.6K Peak Viewers, a big leap of 247.3% from his next-best entry. It also put him among the most popular streamers to be playing the game between September 25 and October 24.
Interestingly, Spreen, most famous as ElSpreen on Twitch, has hit a lot of channel records during this month-long Minecraft exercise. It has to be remembered that he joined the Stake-backed platform at the end of September, so his viewership is bound to rise slowly.
Dedsafio usually consists of Latin American and Spanish streamers and is organized by Elded, one of the Hispanic community's most recognizable influencers. It is based on a Minecraft mod where the participants must overcome multiple challenges and complicated tests that are decided using a roulette wheel.
This roulette wheel chooses the challenges, their difficulty, and how the tests take place. The event also has a permadeath feature, meaning once the content creators die, they cannot come back, bringing their participation to an end.
Dedsafio begins with tasks and tests that aren't that complicated using a server custom and specific mods. The participating streamers must endure all the tests with the materials, weapons, and armor provided and overcome the challenge until the end. As already mentioned, they need to do all this with permadeath on, and the opportunities are limited.
Among other popular names in the Spanish-speaking community to have been busy with this Minecraft series are WestCol, juansguarnizo, and Conterstine. The first name only recently made history with his Stream Fighters 3 boxing event, which became the most popular Kick broadcast ever and helped the Colombian beat his mark as the most popular LATAM content creator ever (excluding YouTube Non-Gaming channels).
Special mention must also go to Argentina's GirlOfNox, whose live streams of Dedsafio 3 on Kick and Twitch made it to the above ten most popular broadcasts list. However, for the sake of preventing multiple entries, these rankings only counted the highest figure.
Readers must also note that the popular Minecraft star Sapnap is one of the few non-Spanish-speaking creators to participate in this event. He had done well for himself until October 24, when he had turned off his live-stream but came back to help revive his companions, causing his first and only death in the series.
So many prominent content creators playing this Minecraft series have also helped the title rapidly climb up the charts. The legendary open-world builder has become the most popular game on Kick over the past month, while it ranks within the top six games and categories on Twitch during the same period.
Mojang's sandbox game continues to make waves and remain relevant in the video gaming community thanks to its prevalence among prominent streamers. It is also highly conducive for conducting influencer-based events, which recently have blown up and proved they are among the best ways to draw high online viewership.
