Continuing with our Q3 2024 reports, Streams Charts presents rankings of the most-watched and most popular esports channels of the quarter. These statistics reflect viewership data of esports match broadcasting, highlighting some of the most popular series and largest esports audiences.

The third quarter of 2024 was host to many major esports events across different games. League of Legends and MLBB both held massively watched regional circuits, which qualified teams for a world championship, and other esports titles like Dota 2 and Counter-Strike hosted international tournaments featuring top teams.

In first place in our watch time ranking, the MPL Indonesia was the most-watched esports channel of the quarter, with 26.26M Hours Watched. The Mobile Legends Professional League is one of esports’ most well-known event series, and the Indonesian audience for this mobile gaming esports game is particularly impressive, regularly hosting millions of concurrent viewers for events.

MLBB also hosted an international mid-season event in collaboration with the EWC during Q3, for which the MPL Indonesia channel hosted Indonesian-language coverage. The Mobile Legends Bang Bang Indonesia YouTube channel was also watched enough to rank seventh in our list, but it was not as popular as the MPL alternative.

League of Legends was mostly supported through the LCK YouTube Gaming channel, which generated 18.2M Hours Watched for Q3. Similar to the MPL Indonesia, the account was also host to Korean-language viewership for international events, and it significantly outperformed the French League of Legends broadcaster otplol_, who reached 10th place with 9.08M HW

Gaules and ESLCS both represented the Counter-Strike community, with Gaules’ large Brazilian following reaching 14.99M HW and outperforming the international English-language ESLCS broadcast with 11.23M. While Gaules is one of Counter-Strike’s most significant broadcasters, he also branched out into other games throughout Q3. His most-watched broadcasts were his coverage of ESL Pro League and IEM Cologne, which was also true for the ESLCS channelGaules and ESLCS are both constantly broadcasting, hosting re-runs of previous matches and thereby boosting their presence in the industry.

Dota 2’s coverage was split across its English-language dota2ti and Russian-language dota2ti_ru channels. The esports title once again hosted it's yearly The International event this Q3, and the season-ending event helped Dota 2 to be particularly well-represented across all aspects of esports broadcasting metrics this quarter.

Lastly, Liên Quân Mobile eSports-Garena and KRAFTON INDIA ESPORTS both garnered over 10M Hours Watched through Asian audiences for mobile gaming esports. The former channel hosts esports coverage for Arena of Valor (Liên Quân) and appeals to a sizeable Vietnamese audience for this mobile game. The latter channel hosts coverage of Battlegrounds Mobile India; with India being so multilingual, the channel hosts broadcasts across a wide variety of languages.

In terms of the most popular esports channels of the quarter, the ranking remained roughly similar. MLBB and League of Legends led the way as the most popular esports titles, having reached significant peaks for regional events, but BGMI was able to sneak up to third. Krafton India Esports received 475K Peak Viewers for its coverage of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series 2024, India’s largest event for BGMI every year.

BGMI was followed by モンスト(モンスターストライク)公式, the official channel for Monster Strike, a popular Japanese mobile game. The channel received 405K Peak Viewers, matching the Korean LCK broadcast, for the 11th anniversary celebration of the game, held on September 29. In general, mobile games seemed to rank higher in regard to a singular peak audience, rather than consistent viewership over time.

Despite Valorant hosting its season-ending Valorant Champions 2024 event during Q3 2024, it was unable to launch a channel to the industry’s top. The viewership for Valorant Champions was spread out across many community casters and different official broadcasters, meaning no one channel could accumulate viewership. This makes Valorant the only title that secured a high ranking in our Top Esports Events of Q3 2024 report without also recording a top esports channel.

Dota 2 found a spot again roughly in the middle of the rankings, with BLASTPremier taking up the rear as a fresh appearance. The channel is the official broadcast for the BLAST Premier esports series, hosted by industry-leading event organizer BLAST, and also the only Twitch channel outside Dota 2 to rank here. The channel received 246K PV for the grand final of the BLAST Fall Final 2024, one of their major international events of the year. Besides this peak, Counter-Strike and PC shooters in general were woefully unrepresented in this ranking.
