The first quarter of 2025 has flown by, and as part of our usual quarterly breakdowns, Streams Charts is exploring the most popular content for the beginning of the year! The opening months of 2025 were marked with intensely popular content across the globe, from special livestreamed events to new game releases and esports coverage, the livestreaming industry is as bustling as ever.
While the livestreaming industry is a diverse, multifaceted scene, the top content of the quarter followed more monolithic themes. Sports in livestreaming was especially popular, with various football events dominating the most popular streams of the quarter by Peak Viewers (PV). Casimiro “CazéTV” Miguel was the single most popular streamer of Q1 2025, having recorded more than 20 individual broadcasts with over 1,000,000 concurrent viewers.
Throughout the quarter, Casimiro broadcasted games live to his loyal audience of Brazilian football fans. The most popular of these streams was the grand final of the 2025 Campeonato Paulista, the top professional football league for São Paulo, Brazil. Cazé’s stream of the finals between Sport Club Corinthians Paulista and Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras was watched by over 5.16M Peak Viewers, highlighting not only the strong football culture in Brazil, but also the potential of broadcasting traditional sports in a new, online medium.
Two football organization channels from Vietnam, FPT Bóng Đá Việt and BÓNG ĐÁ VIỆT NAM, also entered the top five thanks to their broadcasts of the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2024 (which held its final games in January 2025). The 15th edition of the ASEAN Championship once again showcased the top footballing talent for Southeast Asia, and as Vietnam claimed their third ASEAN title, triumphing over Thailand, almost 5,000,000 PV tuned into FPT Bóng Đá Việt’s stream and another 2.27M PV was recorded for the BÓNG ĐÁ VIỆT NAM broadcast.

BG Sports, a Thai sports organization channel, also broadcasted the finals of the ASEAN event. The Thai stream was markedly less popular than its Vietnamese counterpart, but it still recorded a whopping 2.1M PV for the match. Sidemen, a popular content creator group from the UK, also hosted another edition of the yearly charity match. Their official broadcast of the game was watched by over 2.48M Peak Viewers for the final moments of the match, with the first half also reaching over 2M viewers.
While Peak Viewers captures a brief highlight of a stream’s performance, watch time presents a different view. For this ranking, we collated viewership for different kinds of content from different streamers. These creators are at the top of their industry from around the globe, highlighting the diverse and multinational makeup of the modern livestreaming sphere.
In terms of watch time, CazéTV reigned supreme. The Brazilian streamer enjoyed strong viewership for all of his game broadcasts, but especially Brazilian league games: a testament to his dominant position in the Brazilian livestreaming industry. Throughout Q1, CazéTV’s sports broadcasting coverage reached 166.97M Hours Watched, a feat no other streamer in the industry could come even close to.
When people think of livestreaming stars, a priest might not be their first guess, but Frei Gilson managed it anyways. On the channel Frei Gilson / Som do Monte - OFICIAL, he hosted a series of early-morning remote masses and services throughout the Christian observance of Lent to great success. This kind of content especially picked up momentum during the COVID-19 lockdowns, which saw at-risk devotees stay home and attend mass remotely instead of risking the trip. If we had included the entire period of Lent up until mid-April, these special Lent masses accumulated well over 80M Hours Watched.
Marc "Caedrel" Lamont and Zack “zackrawrr” Hoyt, also known as Asmongold, were the most popular English-speaking streamers on this ranking. While Caedrel achieved his success with gaming content covering League of Legends esports, zackrawrr hosted a vast amount of Just Chatting content on his Twitch channel. While these two are some of Twitch’s most popular creators, they were both outdone by a rapidly rising creator in Southeast Asia.
Reza “yb” Oktovian is an Indonesian musician who gained fame as part of the group Weird Genius, as well as a solo artist. In recent time, the Indonesian has been expanding into content creation more and more, and late last year, he dived deeper into livestreaming with a full-scale marathon event. Following on the momentum of the first season, he quickly launched MARAPTHON’s second season, with even more star guests and production quality behind him. As an already established musical celebrity, Oktovian has rapidly risen in the ranks to become one of Indonesia’s most popular creators.
