Previously Streams Charts summed up Trovo's results in March, and now we will take a look at the platform's statistics based on the results of the fourth quarter of 2022, which was the most successful for the service in terms of streamer activity and audience. We will tell you which creators and streamers were the most successful with viewers, as well as which games and broadcast languages were the most popular.
In Q1 2022, Trovo significantly grew in almost all core metrics. In January-March, up to 242.9K channels streamed on the platform, which is 343% more than in the last three months of 2021! The average number of concurrently streaming channels went up from 1K to 3.6K (+251%).
Thanks to the influx of new streamers, the service's audience has noticeably increased. In October-November last year, broadcasts on Trovo were watched by 37.1K Average Viewers, but at the beginning of 2022, this number rose to 64.9K Average Viewers (+74.7%).
One of the key metrics of viewership — Hours Watched — has also increased. In January-March the service users accumulated more than 112.2 million Hours Watched, which is 38.7% more than in October-December.
Moreover, Trovo's maximum Peak Viewers number in January-March was only 136K spectators. This is 14.2% fewer than were recorded in Q4 2021: this is the only metric by which the platform showed a worse result than at the end of the previous year.
The overall results of the top Trovo categories in the fourth quarter do not differ much from those recorded at the end of March. All the same titles remain in the top 10, but the only exception is Minecraft, which entered the ranking instead of CS:GO.
Grand Theft Auto V is the most popular Trovo's category by a large margin, which is extremely successful thanks to the RP servers popular with viewers and fans of particular creators. This category amassed 16.7 million Hours Watched at the end of Q1, which is 80% more than the Dota 2 category that is in second place.
It should be noted that common casual and esports disciplines such as Fortnite, Valorant and League of Legends, as well as mobile games Free Fire, PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty: Mobile are in the top 10. Due to the activity of Russian and other CIS streamers, World of Tanks also made it into the ranking.
In January-March, only male streamers are in the ranking of the most watched streamers on the platform, and the first place is taken by a professional Dota 2 player from Peru — Kingteka. He accumulated 942.5K Hours Watched, 9% more than his closest pursuer. It should be noted that Kingteka represents Team Balrogs, which plays in the first division of DPC SA 2021/2022. However, the team's situation is not the best: it lost all five matches in Tour II.
One more Peruvian, Benjaz, a professional Dota 2 e-athlete who plays in the DPC SA 2021/2022 second division for Ravens, entered the top 10.
The most popular streamer of mobile gaming on Trovo at the end of Q1 is a Colombian MrStivenTc, who accumulated 515K Hours Watched. He spends almost all his time playing Free Fire.
Hispanic (from Latin America) streamers, as well as streamers from Greece, dominate in the ranking of the top streamers on the platform. The only exception is Endrit, who broadcasts in Albanian.
Female streamers on Trovo are still far behind their male counterparts in terms of audience size: in the first quarter of 2022, only one female creator accumulated more than 200K Hour Watched. It is Lagerta_Siman from Russia. The female content creator mostly streams Dead by Daylight and accumulated 267K Hours Watched, and her streams were watched by 416 Average Viewers.
Three female streamers from Russia, three from Greece, three from Latin America (Colombia, Peru, Venezuela) and one from Serbia (who lives in Austria) make up the top 10.
Many top female streamers on Trovo broadcast Grand Theft Auto 5, and HarleyGaming is the main mobile gaming representative on the platform, as she mostly streams Call of Duty: Mobile.
In January-March, the fastest-growing Trovo channels (by number of followers) are mostly from Russia, the Balkan Peninsula, and Greece.
In the first three months of 2022, many users subscribed to a Colombian MrStivenTc — about 45K subscribers. More than 30K users also subscribed to Mudja from Serbia, Jove from Russia and Gunzar from Greece.
The most popular language on Trovo in January-March 2022 is Spanish, mainly due to the top streamers from Latin America: they accounted for more than 35% of the total Hours Watched (more than 39.3 million HW).
At the beginning of 2022, streamers from the CIS countries, and especially from Russia, where creators faced problems with payments from Twitch and YouTube, began to join Trovo en masse. As a result, the percentage of the Russian language in the total Hours Watched number has increased significantly — from 6.3% to 13.2% — and it became the second most popular on the platform in Q1 (in October-December it was in sixth place).
Portuguese remains in third place among the top languages (its percentage rose from 9.7% to 10.3%), and the English language dropped from second to fourth place (from 11.3% to 9.9%). It is also interesting that Greek is ahead of Serbo-Croatian.
