Languages and Nationalities of Streamers

Language and Nationality distribution of channels covering TwitchCon Las Vegas 2023

Across the first two days of TwitchCon, over 4.1M hours of watch time have been accumulated across all channels. The vast majority of this watch time has come from English-speaking channels, which account for 83% of the total watch time.

German-speaking streamers also make up a sizable portion of watch time for the event, and these broadcasters have contributed 261K Hours Watched to the total viewership of the event. Portuguese-speaking broadcasters, especially those from Brazil, made up 5.3% of the watch time, and Spanish-speaking creators 2.1%

A large majority of TwitchCon Las Vegas 2023’s watch time came from English-speaking channels, but we can explore this data on a deeper level by looking at the nationalities of each channel. Important to note, that not all channels covering TwitchCon this year had nationality information available.

Streamers from the USA made up roughly two-thirds of all creators to attend and cover the convention, but a sizable portion of English-speaking creators were from Canada (6.4%) and the United Kingdom (3.8%). South Korean streamers were the next largest proportion of creators, and Japan, Germany, Australia, and Mexico also were represented by creators at the event.

13% of channels to cover the event fall under “Others” in this graphic; many countries are represented by only one or two streamers. TwitchCon Las Vegas 2023 was a highly international event, despite the large majority of USA streamers, and 39 different countries were represented by streamers at this year’s American TwitchCon.

By looking at various Average Viewers brackets, we can see that the majority of channels received 0-50 Average Viewers at TwitchCon. Over 2.3K amateur streamers covered the event, but we can also look at their channel status to see how many Twitch Partners were present.

Gender and Channel Status distribution of channels covering TwitchCon Las Vegas 2023

Although the vast majority of channels received 0-50 Average Viewers at TwitchCon, 63.9% of the total channels were Affiliates on Twitch. Only 12.6% of the total channels to cover TwitchCon were neither a Partner nor Affiliate on the platform, which is still a sizeable portion of streamers at the venue.

23.5% of all broadcasters attending and covering the convention were Twitch Partners. Partners on Twitch are a very small minority of streamers on the platform, although they account for a large portion of the watch time the platform receives. Twitch Partners make up less than 1% of total streamers on the platform, but at TwitchCon they make up a much more sizable portion of attending streamers. Using Streams Charts Twitch partners statistics page, you can analyse the make-up of streamers on the purple platform for yourself.

On the topic of gender, not all streamers have a gender attached to their stream profile, so not all creators are able to be accounted for here. The majority of streamers to cover the event were male, making up 55.1% of the total creators at TwitchCon. 41.8% of the total streamers were female, and you can see which female creators were the most popular at TwitchCon with our rankings.
