Streamer University attracts over 630,000 viewers, puts Kai Cenat among 2025's most popular Twitch streamers

Kai Cenat's much-hyped, weekend-long online event, Streamer University, finally took off on May 22. The first day, titled Orientation/Move In day, saw the 120 participants arrive at the University of Akron to get life started in the latest quest to become the next big stars in the industry.

Kai Cenat himself selected all the students for Streamer University based on an application process hosted on the official website. In the end, 150 names were selected, with their tuition, travel, food, and lodging paid for, and all of them living together on a dedicated campus, which seems to be in Akron, Ohio.

The goal of Streamer University is simple: to equip these young, up-and-coming creators with a real playbook for success and create great content while doing it. It will feature a pretty diverse curriculum designed to teach students about growing their brands and succeeding in the digital space. The courses will cover topics like acting, production, and business management.

Even the list of professors who will be teaching the students over these three days is like a who's who of the livestreaming world. It includes renowned names like Darryl Dwayne "DDG" Granberry Jr. (teaching Internet Beef 101), Emily "ExtraEmily" Zhang (teaching Science), and India "India Love" Westbrooks (teaching Love & Relationship).

The first day was not short on action, including an expulsion and lots of beef between the attending students. Apart from being livestreamed on Kai Cenat's Twitch channel, where it reached 638,289 Peak Viewers, it was also broadcast by the attending influencers and other prominent names.

The nearly 640,000 peak concurrent viewers that Kai Cenat's livestream reached on May 22 put him second among the most popular channels on the purple platform so far this year. Only Ibai "ibai" Llanos is ahead, having reached 791,232 PV during the presentation stream of the fifth edition of his highly successful boxing event, La Velada del Año, on March 10.

One of the big talking points of Day 1 was the on-stream expulsion of YouTuber Ibrahim "Young Dabo" Dabo from Streamer University while he was getting a haircut. He got a call from an official informing him of the decision, and although the young streamer seemingly broke down upon hearing the news, many viewers felt this was staged.

Viewers were especially suspicious because there was no official word from Kai Cenat or the Streamer University team about Young Dabo getting expelled. Their doubts turned out to be true, as it turned out that Kai Cenat was messing with the young influencer, who was back to broadcasting live on Twitch at the time of writing.

Another day, another successful venture from Kai Cenat, whose stocks continue to rise. With Streamer University seemingly on its way to becoming a success that could also birth a few new livestreaming talents, the 23-year-old continues to build on a legacy that few can match.
