On July 1, Technoblade's father recorded a video in which he read, on Technoblade’s behalf, his last message to fans. From this video, the streamer’s real name became known: Alex, 23 years of age. He has been hiding his identity and appearance till now, allowing to reveal those only after his death. In the message, Technoblade thanked the fans for the support and also wished them a long and happy life. In turn, the streamer's father called the son the most amazing child that parents could dream of, and his mother noted his courage and resilience in the face of an incurable disease.
Technoblade is one of the most popular streamers and a multiple tournament champion in various Minecraft PvP modes, as well as a two-time Minecraft Championship winner. In August 2021, doctors discovered he had a tumor in his right shoulder. After that, for some time, he simultaneously did chemotherapy, streamed, and also did charity work. For example, he raised $325K for the Institute for Cancer Research. Technoblade often co-streamed with Dream and was a guest on Mr. Beast's shows. On one of the broadcasts in January 2021, he gathered 854K Peak Viewers.
