We had many notable events in the month of September, such as Shitcamp, Ubisoft Forward, as well as the release of much anticipated games, like FIFA 23 or NBA 2K23. Most of these used content creator stars to advertise their product or event by sponsoring their streams. Influencer marketing is one of the best ways to reach a new audience, and captivate new people to a specific product.
Streams Charts analyzed the September Twitch broadcasts for advertising in their titles. All streams with the keywords "ad" and "sponsored" as well as a brand name in their status were taken into account. But we excluded the gambling broadcasts from the Slots category.
We also counted only one stream per channel. Therefore, the rankings include only the most popular streamers' broadcasts, so that the tops do not consist of the streams of one creator. Below we list the top 5 broadcasts by Hours Watched and the top 5 by Peak Viewers.
Most watched advertisement Twitch streams in September
For the second straight month, the most watched sponsored stream belongs to a Spanish creator. The malagueño IlloJuan is one of the biggest Twitch stars, and reaches a huge audience, making him a hot commodity among big brands. He was sponsored by Ubisoft Forward, the latest event of the gaming company, where plans for the future of the Assassin's Creed series were announced, as well as updates for existing games, and release dates for upcoming games were revealed. IlloJuan stream had the biggest number of unique viewers among the represented streams at 197K.
In the second place, we have popular FIFA content creator Castro_1021, with his giveaway stream that was sponsored by XBOX. On the same day that FIFA 23 was officially released, to celebrate the launch of the game XBOX partnered with Castro_1021, and the streamer gave away one XBOX, a FIFA 23 copy, and a lot of FIFA points. Castro_1021 achieved some impressive viewership numbers on that stream, so the sponsor should be very happy about it. Castro_1021 stream also had the most sponsor mentions in chat, with XBOX being mentioned 27.4K times.
Juiced, the new game show of Twitch megastar xQc secured third place on this list. The game show consisted of two duos going head to head in physical and trivia-based challenges, and it was the debut of xQc as a game show host. It was sponsored by Fansly, and the show had 125K Peak Viewers, the highest of all the streams on the list.
Shitcamp was one of the biggest events of September, and its day-one stream made its way to the fourth place on this list. The event brought together some of the biggest North American content creators, and for one week they went through multiple challenges. Fansly sponsored the first day of the event which was streamed on the channel of QTCinderella, who also organized it.
Japanese streamer stylishnoob4 had the fifth most watched sponsored stream of September, with viewers watching his broadcast for 191K hours. He is one of the biggest Japanese streamers on the platform, playing multiple games, and reaching a large audience. So it comes as no surprise when the recently released game Gundam Evolution, developed by Japanese giants BANDAI NAMCO, chose to sponsor the streamer, in order to reach their target audience and to attract many new players.
Almost making the top five, we have the lifeisbeautiful channel. Life is Beautiful was a music festival that happened in Las Vegas. The event had some of the biggest names in music attending and was streamed on Twitch on their official channel lifeisbeautiful. The stream was sponsored by Google, and saw thousands of viewers tuning in to enjoy music from some of their favorite artists.
Most popular advertisement Twitch streams in September
Most of the streamers that had entered the previous list also made their way into this one but in a slightly different order. As we mentioned above, the most popular sponsored stream of September belongs to xQc, with the premier of his game show Juiced, which was sponsored by Fansly, having 125K Peak Viewers. QTCinderella takes second place in this list, with 52.7K Peak Viewers. Castro_1021 also takes third place in this list with 49K Peak Viewers. IlloJuan Ubisoft Forward watch party was the fourth most popular stream. The Spanish streamer had 42K Peak Viewers.
Popular variety streamer LIRIK secured fifth place on this list, and just like IlloJuan, the streamer did it while streaming Ubisoft Forward for its audience. While IlloJuan attracted mainly Spanish-speaking viewers, LIRIK brought the event to all the English-speaking viewers on the platform. His broadcast had 38K Peak Viewers, with viewers from all around the world preferring his broadcast ahead of the official Ubisoft one.
The DoorDash official Twitch channel almost made it to the top five most popular streams of the month. The food delivery company organized a MultiVersus tournament called Battle of the Brands, bringing together multiple famous content creators, with each one representing a famous food brand, such as KFC, Taco Bell, and many others. The second day of the event was close to entering this list, with 35K Peak Viewers. DoorDash was the main sponsor of this stream. Curiously while everyone else on the top five is a content creator, this is a brand that sponsored the stream of its own event, and was almost able to make it to the top 5 most popular sponsor streams of the month.
Brands continue to see content creators as a way to reach a larger audience and increase their customer base. It’s an easy way to reach their target demographic and gives brands much more exposure than traditional advertising methods.
