In the month of August, we had some very big streaming events, such as Camp Knut, and OTK Island of Riches. These events were sponsored by some of the biggest brands in the world. We also had a lot of new games released, and many of them sponsored big content creators in order to promote their products. It's been proved that influencer marketing is one of the most successful ways to reach your target audience and captivate the people to play that specific game. 

Streams Charts analyzed the August Twitch broadcasts for advertising in their names (titles). All streams with the keywords "ad" and "sponsored" as well as a brand name in their status were take into account. But we excluded the gambling broadcasts from the Slots category. 

We also counted only one stream per channel. Therefore, the rankings include only the most popular streamers' broadcasts, so that the tops do not consist of the streams of one creator. Below we list the top 5 broadcasts by Hours Watched and the top 5 by Peak Viewers.

Most watched advertisement Twitch streams in August

The most watched sponsored Twitch stream in the month of August belongs to Spanish streamer TheGrefg. TheGrefg is one of the biggest streamers on the platform, so it's normal that brands will want to partner with him. This time it was Tower of Fantasy, a free-to-play open-world RPG, that sponsored the stream, and TheGrefg viewers watched that particular stream for 224K hours.

The stream was on air for 6.5 hours, had 49.7K simultaneous viewers, and 34.4K Average Viewers. It attracted 204.3K Unique Viewers, so it's safe to say that Tower of Fantasy should be happy about the potential new players it attracted to the game.

In second place on the list, we have Knut, with the stream of day 22 of Camp Knut, one of the biggest content creator events of August. In the stream, Knut went to pick up Hafthorjulius, also known as "The Mountain", and then went to the gym to start yet another training session at Camp Knut. 

The main sponsor of the stream was NordVPN, one of the biggest VPN providers in the world. The stream lasted for 6 hours and was watched for 151K hours, and had 46K Peak Viewers. Regarding Average Viewers, the broadcast had 24K. It also gained 115K Unique Viewers, with 11.8K Active Chatters sent 106.8K chat messages.

Another Spanish streamer made his way into the top three, and this time it was knekro. Just like TheGrefg, knekro was also sponsored by Tower of Fantasy, which is certainly delighted to see two of the streams they sponsored during August made it to the top three of this list.

The broadcast took place from August 10 to 11 and lasted almost 13 hours. Viewers spent 148K hours watching the stream. The Peak Viewers number wasn't as high as the one TheGrefg was able to reach, but at 17K Peak Viewers, it was still a very solid number. The stream had an Airtime of 12 hours, the most of all the streams on this list, and had 11K Average Viewers. Tower of Fantasy mentioned 5.2K on the chat. Way more times than the top two streams combined, when it comes to sponsoring mentions.

In fourth place, we have LuquEt4, a Brazilian streamer that mostly streams GTA V. He was sponsored by Amazon Prime Video in one of his normal GTA V role-play streams. LuquEt4 viewers watched the stream for 127K hours. The broadcast was live for almost 8 hours, and had 31K PV, and 16K AV. 22.3K Active Chatters sent 141.5K chat messages during the stream, while the main sponsor was mentioned 5.2K times in the chat.

In the last place on this list, we have shroud. The famous FPS player was sponsored by SUPER PEOPLE, a new battle royale game. His viewers watched the stream for 121K hours. The stream had 29K concurrent viewers, and 33K simultaneous viewers.

From the top five, it's important to note that we had two Spanish streamers, a Portuguese one, and two English-speaking streamers. This proves that brands have noticed the fast growth of Spanish and Portuguese streamers on the platform, and are trying to capitalize on it. 

Most popular advertisement Twitch streams in August

When it comes to the biggest peak viewership for sponsored Twitch streams in August, it's Knut who takes the crown. On his pre Camp Knut final stream, the Norwegian streamer had 55K simultaneous viewers watching his stream. Once again the sponsor of Knut stream was NordVPN. The stream was very short, having an Airtime of 1.5 hours, but it attracted 204.3K Unique Viewers.

TheGrefg made its way on the list, securing second place with his sponsored stream by Tower of Fantasy. With 49K peak viewers, the Spanish streamer proved why he is becoming one of the faces of the platform. However, Tower of Fantasy was only mentioned 18 times in the chat, a very low number compared to the sponsor mentions in the streams of shroud, knekro, and LuquEt4 from top ads streams from HW list.

Shroud entered the top three of most popular streamers, after placing in fifth place on the most watched sponsored streams list. In his sponsored stream by SUPER PEOPLE, shroud played a $20K tournament with fellow streamer iiTzTimmy, and was able to reach 33K PV. His stream also had the most sponsor mentions in the chat, with SUPER PEOPLE being mentioned 810 times. It's more than all the other top five streamers together.

The Spanish streamer Rubius comes in at fourth place. Splatoon 3, a third-person game that will be released in September by Nintendo, was the sponsor of the stream which had 33K PV. The stream also had the second lowest hours watched of this top five at 51K HW, but attracted 301.5K Unique Viewers.

Richwcampbell finishes up this list by securing fifth place. The streamer was the host of OTK Island of Riches, one of the biggest events of August, that was sponsored by Mountain Dew Baja Blast. Episode six of the show was the stream that enabled richwcampbell to place in this top 5 list. 

The stream had 32K simultaneous viewers and had a duration of almost 3 hours. It also had the lowest HW on this list, with 39 hours watched. More about OTK Island of Riches event and its viewership stats you can read here.
