Streaming is a very sedentary job and time-consuming job. Because of that, it might bring some health issues for streamers, since they don't have much time to exercise or eat healthily.
Well, Camp Knut was created in order to help streamers regain their fitness, teach them how to eat healthier, and prove that it's possible for streamers to have a healthy lifestyle in general. Knut, the creator of the event, said:
"The concept is we're training and dieting like professional bodybuilders to show the Twitch community, YouTube community that it is possible for everyone (to get fit)".
After attending the 2022 TwitchCon in Amsterdam, Knut, the 36 years old Twitch streamer, and bodybuilder, decided to create a fitness camp in Austin, where he would be joined by other streamers and content creators. The goal was to fight the stigma that fitness and streaming are two things that can't be associated.
During 30 days, Knut helped streamers, and also their viewers, learn about dieting and the best ways to work out. He created a personalized workout plan, and diet plan, for each of the streamers that attended the camp, so that they could achieve the best results possible.
The participants
Camp Knut was attended by twelve streamers, including Knut himself, that accepted the challenge and embarked on the journey to becoming healthier. These content creators were, Knut, Mizkif, Nmplol, richwcampbell, cyr, Tectone, EsfandTV, ExxZy, wakewilder, erobb221, Lacari, and Hafthorjulius.
Most of these streamers are a part of OTK. OTK is an influencer network and also a media company built by creators, with Asmongold, Mizkif, EsfandTV, richwcampbell, and Tips Out having found the brand in 2020. Since then, many more streamers and content creators joined OTK, making them one of the biggest companies in the influencer market.
After just a week of Camp Knut, streamers had already noticed positive changes in their lifestyle. They had been sleeping better, were less stressed, and felt that the regular workouts combined with the diet plan each one of them was following were the main reasons for that.
While in Camp Knut the streamers trained for three straight days and would then have a rest day. Every day they trained, they would focus on a specific part of their bodies. For example, at the very beginning the order was: day one chest and calves, day two back and triceps, and day three shoulders, with the fourth day being a rest day.
Participants of the event would also stream while cooking the food for their rigorous diet when they weren't streaming their workouts. Nmplol was the member that did the most cooking streams while on Camp Knut. The streamers would also go grocery shopping together which provided us with some great moments.
Viewership Results
The event was able to pull great viewership numbers during the 30 days it took place. All the participants in Camp Knut streamed the event. From streaming the workouts to preparing the meals, pretty much everything was done under the watch of thousands of fans.
Camp Knut had 7 million Hours Watched, with the event having 97K Peak Viewers and 13K Average Viewers. The Peak Viewers of the event was reached on the stream of Twitch star Mizkif. Knut goal was to show the community it was possible for streamers to train and diet like professional bodybuilders. It's safe to say he was able to achieve that goal, and captivated the interest of thousands of people in the process, as you can see in the overall viewership statistics of the event.
In terms of individual viewership results for each stream, Mizkif had the most watched stream, with 2.6 Million Hours watched, and doing so with an Airtime of 63 Hours. Closely behind we have Knut with 2 million but more than doubling Mizkif Airtime with 127 Hours streamed. In third place, we have Nmplol, with 1 million Hours Watched and an Airtime of 37 hours.
Of all the participants, Lacari was the one that had the least watch time, with just 7K Hours Watched. But he also had the lowest Airtime of all the streamers in the event, at just 4 Hours.
As mentioned before, Mizkif claimed first place when it came to Peak Viewers at Camp Knut with 96K Peak Viewers. The top three in Peak Viewers are the same ones in Hours Watched, but with the second and third place changing. This time it was Nmplol securing second place with 56K Peak Viewers, while Knut finished in third place with 55K Peak Viewers.
Regarding the Average Viewers, once again it was Mizkif leading the way with 42K Average Viewers. While with 27K Average Viewers Nmplol placed second on the list, Knut came once again in third place, having 16K Average Viewers throughout the event.
The streamer who benefited the most from this event was clearly Knut. It's actually appropriate since he was the one that had the idea of the event, and who played a major part in putting it all together. The 36 years old Twitch streamer was already a well know and respected content creator in the community, but this event catapulted him to Twitch stardom.
During the 30 days the event took place, Knut gained 121K new followers. In second place was Hafthorjulius, a bodybuilder and streamer just like Knut, who is also very well known as "The Mountain" from the popular TV show Game of Thrones. Hafthorjulius gained 74K new followers. Tectone gained 51K followers and closes the top three.
Surprisingly, despite having the most Hours Watched, Peak Viewers, and Average Viewers, Mizkif came in in fifth place on the followers gained list, gaining 34K new followers.
However, the real winner of the event was Lacari. Despite having the lowest Hours Watched, and Peak Viewers, Lacari was first in the category that really matters. With 48% of the votes, the streamer was the clear winner and received praises from Knut and wakewilder for his incredible dedication throughout the duration of Camp Knut.
Overall the event was very well received by the community and helped the streamers improve their lifestyle. Hopefully, they will continue to practice the teachings they learn at Camp Knut, and prove that more than an event for content creators to gain exposure, it was actually beneficial for health and mental purposes.
