Twitch Rivals are official events hosted by Twitch which combine competitive gameplay with your favourite streamers. Twitch Rivals will host over 60 events in 2023, and 4 of these took place at TwitchCon Las Vegas 2023.
The events were not the most popular content of the Las Vegas weekend, but they still received significant viewership. By utilising both Streams Charts and Esports Charts, we can analyse the overall viewership for the Twitch Rivals channel and the viewership received by each event.
Twitch Rivals Viewership at Las Vegas
Across the three days and four events that were hosted on the official channel, the TwitchRivals Twitch channel received 156K Hours Watched. The Twitch Rivals Ultimate Challenge, also an event hosted at TwitchCon Paris, was the most-watched of the four events, contributing 59.2K HW to the total watch time of the channel.
This particular event was also when TwitchRivals reached its 32.8K PV figure, by far the most popular of all events at the convention. The other three events, 1v1 Face-Off, Apex Legends Showdown, and the MC Championship Live, failed to reach more than 20K concurrent viewers.
Although the official TwitchRivals channel was often the most popular channel to broadcast these events, it was not the only one. Many content creators participating in the games also broadcasted the event, and in some cases, they received more watch time than the official broadcast. Let’s take a look at the viewership for each event, combining the total viewership of all channels to cover the events.

Twitch Rivals events total viewership, compared by watch time and peak concurrent viewers
The Ultimate Challenge event was the most-watched event of all four, receiving 471.2K Hours Watched in total. By combining the viewership of all broadcasts, the Ultimate Challenge event received 142.3K Peak Viewers, the largest proportion of which came from Cellbit’s channel.
Although the official TwitchRivals channel received significant viewership, Cellbit was the most popular streamer of the event. The Brazillian creator contributed 113K Hours Watched to the event’s total; although 30 streamers covered this event, Cellbit was responsible for 24.1% of the total watch time.
The MC Championship Live event was the second-most-watched event, receiving 270.1K Hours Watched and 88.9K Peak Viewers. Although this event featured many famous names in the Minecraft live-streaming community, the arguably most famous creators for this game, Dream and GeorgeNotFound, competed in the Ultimate Challenge event instead of the Minecraft one.
The Apex Legends Showdown event was the third-most-watched event of the weekend, although it featured the largest prize pool of the four events: $100K USD. The Apex Legends tournament featured some well-known names in the community, such as TSM_ImperialHal, the current Apex Legends Global Series world champion, and iiTzTimmy, a popular streamer who also competed at the ALGS 2023 Championship.
Despite the star-studded roster of Apex Legends enthusiasts and fans, CDawgVA was the most-watched streamer of the event, with just slightly more watch time accumulated than the official broadcast. The Welshman received 26K Hours Watched for his coverage of the event and managed to outperform the popular names in the Apex Legends community.
Finally, the 1v1 Face-off event was the least popular of the four tournaments but still received significant viewership. The event featured one-on-one party games for various popular streamers to compete in, and the TwitchRivals channel was the largest contributor to watch time for the event.
Loltyler1 was the second-most-watched creator at the event, and other big names in the live-streaming community like erobb221, pokelawls, and QTCinderella also contributed to the total of 110.4K Hours Watched.
In total, the four events of Twitch Rivals at the recent TwitchCon received 993K Hours Watched across all broadcasts, markedly more than the four events at TwitchCon Paris 2023, which received 786K HW. In general, the recent TwitchCon Las Vegas convention was more popular in terms of viewership than the Parisian iteration, and if you want to read more about the viewership for the Las Vegas event, you can check out our viewership recap here.
