Releasing in tandem with Battlefield 6, Electronic Arts dropped Batttlefield REDSEC, a new free-to-play battle royale shooter for the franchise. After the release on October 28, the game jumped to the top of Twitch, and even competed with the viewership of Battlefield 6.
The past months have been highlights for the Battlefield franchise. The recent Battlefield 6 release has found a global fan base, and its early access periods were highly popular in livestreaming. Considering the early accesses, the franchise has been dominating livestreaming recently.
The release week of Battlefield REDSEC generated 13.54M Hours Watched (HW) across major platforms Twitch, Kick and YouTube Live. The vast majority of the viewership came from Twitch, powered by a wave of North American creators, but plenty of Kick streamers enjoyed strong viewership throughout the release, too. For its release week viewership, Battlefield REDSEC ranked as the fourth-most-watched game on Twitch.

The excitement for the Battlefield REDSEC peaked on its release day, reaching 454.7K Peak Viewers (PV) on Twitch. The purple platform also recorded the game’s 4.1K Peak Channels, far many more channels than its competitors. The majority of watch time for REDSEC on Twitch came from English-language broadcasts, but other German, French and Russian-speaking streamers also garnered millions of Hours Watched.
Across Twitch, Kick, and YouTube Live, we recorded over 4.5K Unique Channels with at least 25 Average Viewers Streaming Battlefield REDSEC’s release. The new foray in the battle royale genre attracted the attention of thousand of streamers, and hundreds of thousands of viewers, building on the excitement and hype surrounding the franchise at the moment. But, how does the release viewership of Battlefield REDSEC compare to other Battlefield releases?

Battlefield REDSEC received over 11.56M Hours Watched on Twitch during its opening week: less than Battlefield 6, but more than the franchise’s previous entries such a Battlefield 2042 and Battlefield V. In terms of peak viewership, the battle royale release actually came close to matching the attention of Battlefield 6 and far outperformed all previous releases.
With each release in recent years, the Battlefield franchise has continued to expand its influence in the livestreaming sphere. Many of the content creators broadcasted hours and hours, a testament to their dedication and love for this classic series.

Ahead of the pack, North American content creator and former esports professional Michael “shroud” Grzesiek was the most-watched Battlefield REDSEC streamer. The American streamer has a history with battle royales, and his broadcasts of REDSEC during its opening week generated over 839K Hours Watched and saw 55K Peak Viewers tune in. Other top streamers by watch time include various iconic names of the North American livestreaming scene, such as Jaryd “summit1g” Lazar, Timothy “TimTheTatman” Betar and more.
A surprise entry, a Kick streamer and PUBG fanatic Maher “maherco” Sultaneh was the second-most popular streamer behind shroud. With 45K Peak Viewers, the Arabic-speaking streamer was the only Kick broadcaster to make our rankings here, even coming out ahead of streaming royalty such as Félix “xQc” Lengyel.
Following the releases of Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC, the franchise is poised to remain a strong figure in the livestreaming industry for the foreseeable future.
