This broadcast from JTBC News, the flagship nightly newscast of South Korean television network JTBC, reached 140,337 Peak Viewers (PV). As a result, it ended as the most-watched broadcast among regional platforms by this metric for the ongoing week.
The official studio channel even outpaced the coverage of League of Legends' most popular regional league, the LCK. The top-tier South Korean circuit is usually a massive audience driver across regional and global platforms, but JTBC뉴스 was able to outdo its live streams from prominent co-casters like Kim "김민교." A look at the Streams Charts database also showed that only YouTube streams (both Gaming and non-Gaming segments) had higher peak viewership numbers than this CHZZK channel between February 16 and 17.
Moreover, with 570,253 Hours Watched (HW), it was one of the ten most-watched non-YouTube Live channels over the last two days. As a result, CHZZK rose to the top of the pile when it came to the most viewed regional platforms in the last week.
The ongoing Olympic Winter Games are taking place across multiple venues in Italy, and will run until February 22. South Korea is currently in the 17th spot with one gold, two silver and three bronze medals, with Norway leading the pack with a whopping 32 medals overall.
