The Future Games Show was held as part of the Gamescom 2025 on August 20. Filled with new game reveals, myriad updates and crucial information on the most exciting upcoming titles, it ended among the series's more successful livestreaming efforts.
Gamescom 2025 is one of the year's biggest gaming showcases, once again hosted by Geoff Keighley. The Opening Night Live reached record-breaking levels to get the festivities off to a fantastic start, and the Future Games Show continued the momentum with some considerable audience numbers.
The Future Games Show Gamescom 2025 reached 308,784 Peak Viewers (PV) towards the end, which is when the biggest announcements are usually made. The two-hour-long broadcast was the shortest of the three Future Games Shows to be held this year, but it did end as the second-most popular one.
The showcase also accrued 531,982 Hours Watched (HW), making it the number two livestream of the three editions held this year. As many as 324 channels covered the proceedings, including Zack "zackrawrr" Hoyt, Maximilian "handofblood" Knabe, and Elias "elajjaz" Lönn, who contributed hugely to the overall watch time.
The latest iteration was also pretty successful when looking at all the showcases held in the Future Games Show series. It finished as the third-most popular and the second-most-watched one, with the sheer audience interest also ensuring it ended as the third most consistently watched event, with almost 266,000 Average Viewers (AV).
One of the biggest talking points coming out of the Future Games Show Gamescom 2025 was Resident Evil Requiem. Masato Kumazawa, the producer of the latest entry in Capcom's legendary survival horror series, revealed more details about it. Among other things, players can swap between first and third-person views depending on how they want to face and kill the horrors. Fans will get to experience Grace Ashcroft's story when Requiem launches on February 27, 2026, for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
1348 Ex Voto was another title that created a buzz among viewers and fans. Developer Sedleo dropped the reveal trailer for this cinematic action-adventure title, disclosing that it's a third-person action-adventure about an odyssey of honour and justice across 14th-century Italy.
Gamers will play the role of Aeta, a young knight on a brutal quest of honour and vengeance. They are sure to whet their appetites when it comes to sword fights, sweeping landscapes, and a narrative inspired by chivalric tales. This game, drenched in medieval grit, will be coming to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox in 2026.
In total, fans got over 70 game reveals and updates from the Future Games Show at Gamescom 2025. A couple of other titles that gained higher engagement from audiences were Hell Let Loose: Vietnam and Little Nightmares III.
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is a follow-up to Expression Games' 2021 World War 2 tactical shooter. It will be available on PC, PS, and Xbox next year. Little Nightmares III is another follow-up to the beloved atmospheric adventure title, with players getting a look at Carnevale, a spine-chilling chapter from the upcoming offering, which will come to PC and consoles on October 10.
There are a few more days of video game reveals, shocks, surprises, and updates to come for fans across the world. Big names like Epic Games will also make their presence felt, with Xbox having already had its say, so there's much to look forward to over the coming weekend.
