Tarik is one of the most popular Twitch streamers in the world. The former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pro became a full-time streamer after being benched by Evil Geniuses in April of 2021. Since then, the content creator gained a lot of new fans, followers, and his viewership numbers skyrocketed. He is now the biggest Valorant streamer in the world, having switched to Riot Games FPS after being benched.
His watch parties have more viewers than Riot Games official broadcast, and he truly became a pillar of the Valorant community.
Tarik start in content creation
Despite being in the prime of his days as a streamer, and content creator in general, tarik is not new to content creation. Since his days as a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive professional player that tarik understood that it was important to work on his brand.
He started to upload videos to his YouTube channel in 2014. At the time tarik was already streaming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and playing professionally for NetcodeGuides.com. Tarik started by posting small clips of his best moments, and then transitioned to longer videos, mainly playing with his friends. That is where the famous Rank S video series began. In this series, he would play with his friends in the ESEA Rank S, the highest rank of ESEA. The videos were super funny and the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive community loved them.
From there on tarik continued to make content on a regular basis. Streaming many days per week, and almost uploading a video per day. He knew that streaming and YouTube videos would help his brand grow, and it also provided him with an extra source of revenue.
Becoming one of the best North American CS:GO players of all time
Tarik wasn't only loved by the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive community for being a very fun person, and having a great personality. He was also an extremely good player. Spectacular with the AWP, and a great rifler too. He joined Counter Logic Gaming in 2015, and after some great results with the team, tarik would end up being moved to the bench.
However, it didn't take long for a new team to pick him up, and it was non-other than legendary esports organization OpTic Gaming. It was there that tarik had his breakthrough. While on OpTic Gaming, tarik proved that not only could he play at the tier one level, but he could also be one of the best in the world in his role.
That moment came when OpTic Gaming won ELEAGUE Season 2, defeating Astralis in the final. It was the biggest victory for a North American organization in years, and one of the most important victories in the history of the North American Counter-Strike: Global Offensive scene.
It was there that tarik proved he was one of the best in the world. He gave hope to the North American fans that it was possible to have a North American team at the top of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive mountain, and end the European era of dominance.
But the best moment of tarik Counter-Strike: Global Offensive career was yet to come. After leaving OpTic Gaming, he joined another legendary North American organization in Cloud9. While on Cloud9 tarik achieved some great results, winning eight tournaments, and placing in the top three in many other events.
The sweetest win of all of them was the ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018. Arguably the biggest win of a North American Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team in history, and one of the best fairytale stories in esports. For the first time, and still the only time in history, a full North American roster won a Major trophy. It was an amazing grand final, with a spectacular atmosphere, and a roller coaster of emotions.
Just five months after winning the Major, tarik left Cloud9 to join the Brazilian organization of MIBR, where his good friend Stewie2K was. Despite having a super team roster, the squad was never quite able to fulfill the high expectations they had for themselves. The squad made some deep runs but it didn't win any important tournament, which for a team with players of that caliber, was disappointing.
The fact that this was the first time most members of the team played in a squad where English was the main language brought some communication issues in-game. In the end, the squad decided that going international wasn't the answer to their problems, and went full Brazilian once again.
After six months in MIBR, tarik was benched, and one month later joined yet another North American esports organization. This time it was NRG Esports, but unfortunately for him, his stint there also wasn't the best. Five months had passed since tarik had joined the team when the organization disbanded from CS:GO.
Once again tarik was looking for a team, but this time one that could bring him back to the level he wanted to be in. Winning tournaments, and competing in the biggest stages of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Evil Geniuses was the new home he chose, and finally, tarik was back winning big events such as the ESL One: New York 2019, and StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 8.
For two years, Evil Geniuses was one of the best teams in the world. Making deep runs in tournaments, and always competing against the best of the best.
After almost two years on the team, tarik decided to bench himself from the squad. He said he shouldn't be a part of a project that he had lost faith in. A little later, tarik streaming adventure in Valorant began.
The content King
Shortly after becoming a full-time streamer, and content creator, tarik decided to switch to Valorant, and since then as never looked back. The North American was quick to reach Radiant, and was always playing against the best players in the region. Steadily, his viewership numbers continued to rise, and tarik became one of the most watched Valorant streamers on Twitch.
He received permission from Riot Games to watch party official events, and the Valorant Champions 2021 was the first big event he co-streamed. In that event, he already had good viewership numbers, averaging 26K concurrent viewers. But he still wasn't as big as he is now. Streamers like ibai, shroud, and Mixwell, all had a better ACV than him.
However, since the 2022 season started that tarik is indisputably the watch party king. The proof of that is the numbers his co-stream reached in the VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters Copenhagen, and in the VCT 2022: Stage 2 NA Last Chance Qualifier. He topped the list of all watch party channels in all the categories, and also became the first-ever streamer to outperform the main Valorant channel. Tarik averaged 77K concurrent viewers in the VCT 2022: Stage 2 NA Last Chance Qualifier, the highest ACV from any Valorant watch party ever.
Fans prefer to see tarik watch parties than to watch the official broadcast. This is due to the fact that he understands a lot about the game, and is very charismatic. This makes the watch party very fun to watch, and the interactions on his stream make viewers feel like they are at home watching the tournament with their friends.
In the last 30 days, tarik has an ACV of 30K, and fans have watched his stream for 6 million hours. He peaked at 196K simultaneous viewers while playing Valorant obviously. Just this month, tarik gained 110K new followers. Currently, he has 2 million followers, and is rapidly getting closer to a place in the top 50 most followed channels on Twitch.
Numbers don't lie, and these numbers say that tarik is one o the biggest streams in the world right now, and is growing at a very fast pace. His dedication to streaming is also something I have to highlight, since tarik is one of the most consistent streamers on the platform. He streams almost every day, and is always creating new and engaging content for the Valorant community.
Recently tarik signed as a content creator, and substitute player, for Sentinels. One of the biggest esports organizations in North America, especially when it comes to content creation. It's safe to expect some great sponsorship videos with tarik and the rest of the Sentinels players, and we might even see him back in the competitive scene, as he is listed as a substitute player for the team.
The Valorant Champions 2022 will also start on the 31st of August. We can once again expect thousands of people from around the globe to tune in to tarik watch party streams, and watch the best teams in the world battle each other.
Right now one thing is certain, tarik is the content king in the Valorant community, and his reign has just begun.
