This game tells a love story in a cute doll world. How did a Teen rated product get into the top 15 games of the past week? Streams Charts talks about the success of the new project It Takes Two.
It Takes Two is a two-player co-op game from Hazelight Studios. Note that the second player does not need to buy another copy of the game, it is enough to invite a friend through Steam, Origin or on consoles.
The plot tells the story of a married couple who is going through a difficult period in a relationship and is about to file for divorce. The daughter heard a quarrel between her parents and, thanks to the magic book of love, turned the couple into dolls, which will have to go through many trials before returning to the human world.
The game is similar to “100 in 1”, as with each chapter, a new mechanic appears. The genre can abruptly change from a platformer to a fighting game, a shooter, or even a race, and in addition to the main plot, the game is full of mini-games and interactivity with the surrounding world. Critics rated the game very well, mostly 9 points out of 10.
The game was released on March 26, and the same day was the best for It Takes Two in terms of peak viewers — 163K people. The first 4 days after the release, hours watched of the game were about a million, and on March 30 it was 1.1M. On March 31, this figure fell by 25%. The game shows good dynamics: usually new games, the average completion time of which is 15 hours, stay in the top of Twitch for 1-3 days, after which they drop sharply.
In the case of It Takes Two, the interest did not fade: for example, on March 31, 95K viewers watched the category, and on April 1, already 129K. Traditionally, several popular streamers have decided to try out the new product.
Most Popular Streamers of It Takes Two
The most popular streamer of It Takes Two was the Brazilian Gaules with 424K HW in 14.5 hours on the air. In addition to him, alanzoka and YoDa from Portuguese-speaking streamers got to the top. The second streamer in terms of hours watched was Elraenn from Turkey — 378K HW in 11.7 hours. From the English-speaking streamers, only LIRIK was in the top at the 8th position with 208K HW.
As for peak viewers, the German streamer Trymacs attracted 58K people in 9.2 hours of airtime. American streamer Ludwig spent only two hours in the game on streams, but was able to take the second position with 42K people on the broadcast.
Overall, the growth and viewership dynamics of It Takes Two are much better than those of other single/co-op games. For comparison, games such as Watch Dogs: Legion and Assassin's Creed: Valhalla had much worse dynamics at the start, they ceased to be interesting to the viewer just a couple of days after the release.
