The event’s broadcasts peaked at over 694,000 concurrent viewers, significantly surpassing the spring showcase in audience reach.

Minecraft LIVE 2026 September ran for just over an hour, giving developers plenty of time to showcase the Sift dimension, unveil ice caves and a frozen zombie variant, highlight the release of Minecraft Dungeons II, and share new content creation tools and other updates.

The event was broadcast across 279 channels. The official Minecraft YouTube channel drew the largest audience, peaking at nearly 367,000 concurrent viewers. Popular Minecraft creators, including Bobicraft, Forrest “KreekCraft” Waldron, and Tobias “Tubbo” Smith, also covered the showcase.

The Sift is coming to Minecraft in 2027

Mojang confirmed that the Sift will join Minecraft’s Java and Bedrock editions in 2027, becoming the game’s fourth dimension alongside the Overworld, Nether, and End. Previously revealed for Minecraft Dungeons II at Gamescom, the realm received a brief preview running in Minecraft itself. Details about how players will access it remain undisclosed.

Ice caves and a frozen zombie variant

The next game drop introduces ice caves containing calcite, naturally growing icicles, and softly glowing ice crystals. Mojang also revealed an unnamed frozen zombie variant whose attacks apply a freezing effect, with some throwing ice balls.

Minecraft Dungeons II gets a detailed showcase

The broadcast explored Minecraft Dungeons II ahead of its September 29 release. The action RPG replaces the original’s separate missions with an interconnected world, adds jumping, and sends players against the Illager High Council. The sequel, which has now launched, supports solo play and cooperative adventures for up to four players.

Other announcements

Mojang announced that Minecraft will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 27, 2026. The show also previewed a themed hotel and the Escape the Nether rollercoaster at Minecraft World, opening at Chessington World of Adventures Resort near London in 2027. Other news included plans to improve content creation and sharing tools, alongside new Sound Effects Packs for Minecraft Marketplace.
