Streams Charts continues summarizing the results of Q2 2022. The new article is dedicated to overviewing the most popular streamers of the French-language segment of Twitch streamers – which saw one of the biggest quarterly increases in terms of Hours Watched.
Compared to the indicators of Q1, the top 100 French-speaking streamers generated 5.1% more Hours Watched in Q2 2022. At the same time, only 94 creators out of the top 100 streamers are French – and they generated more than 96% of Hours Watched. The top also included Tonton from Switzerland, two Belgians (ImSoFresh and Syriano), SkyrrozTV from Mexico, Nisqyy from Turkey, and the female streamer cameliaaa92 from Morocco.
Most popular French-speaking streamers on Twitch in Q2 2022
Kamet0, the owner of the esports organization Karmine Corp, once again became the most popular streamer in the French-speaking segment. In Q2, he streamed a lot of his team's games, and in June he held his own KCX 2 event, the results of which can be found here. This activity saw Kamet0’s performance grow 58% over Q2, and he ended up contributing almost 10% to the total Hours Watched indicator of the top 100 French-speaking streamers.
ZeratoR’s indicator is up 150% in Q2, propelling the streamer from the eighth to the second spot in the rankings. This growth is mainly due to the success of the broadcasts of the ZLAN2022 and TRACKMANIA CUP 2022 events.
Closing the top 3 was JLTomy who lost one spot in the rankings, while Sardoche retained the fourth spot. At the same time, both streamers have shown a 10% increase in Hours Watched in Q2. On the other hand, the indicator of Ponce decreased by 9%, causing him to drop from the third to the fifth spot in the ranking. The largest drop among the top 10 in terms of Hours Watched was shown by Gotaga – the streamer's indicator was 26% below that of Q1.
Included in the top 10 most popular French-speaking streamers are newcomers: aminematue and mistermv, taking the sixth and eighth spots. Note that in Q2, Hours Watched generated by these creators increased by 301% and 90%, respectively. The indicator of aminematue grew because of the increase in his airtime by 2.5 times, while mistermv became more popular thanks to the broadcasts of the SpeeDons 2022 and XBOX & BETHESDA GAMES SHOWCASE 2022 events.
Closing the top 10 were Domingo and Locklear – although, in Q2, their Hours Watched were up 3% and 12%, respectively. Chowh1 and Chap_GG left the top 10 most popular French-speaking streamers as their indicators decreased by 21% and 40% respectively.
Most popular French-speaking female streamers on Twitch in Q2 2022
The 26-year-old Justine BagheraJones Noguera became the most popular female streamer. The girl made it to the top 100 French-speaking creators for the first time, and her jump in popularity occurred after participating in the Pixel Battle Reddit in April. In Q2, her Hours Watched grew by 74% thanks to the broadcasts in the Just Chatting and Special Events categories. Closing the top 3 were LittleBigWhale and Ultia who lost more than 21% of Hours Watched in Q2 and dropped one spot in the rankings each as a result.
The fourth spot is occupied by the newcomer to the ranking: cameliaaa92. The girl began her Twitch career in May 2022 and by the end of June, she had generated more than 578.2K Hours Watched. Another newcomer to the top 100 French-speaking streamers was AVAMind, whose Hours Watched grew by 10% thanks to the participation in April’s Reddit Pixel War.
Most popular French-speaking Twitch categories in Q2 2022
Just Chatting is traditionally the most popular category on Twitch, and the French-speaking segment is no exception. At the same time, Q2 saw a 69% increase in Hours Watched – the category’s indicator amounted to 36.5M (or 23.6% of the total indicator of the top 100 French-speaking streamers). League of Legends retained the second spot, although it lost 29% of Hours Watched in Q2. Grand Theft Auto V again took the third spot, with the game’s performance showing a slight increase.
Elden Ring and Lost Ark, which closed the top 5 in Q1, ended up outside the top 10 categories. Their spots were taken by Special Events and Trackmania, which got into the top 10 thanks to various gaming conferences and streamer events that took place in Q2. Also leaving the segment’s top 10 categories in Q2 were Clash Royale and FIFA 22, which were replaced by Valorant and Apex Legends.
Audience overlap of the most popular French-speaking streamers on Twitch
We analyzed the audience overlap of the top 5 most popular French-speaking streamers on Twitch for Q2 2022. It turned out that the audiences of ZeratoR, JLTomy, Sardoche, and Ponce overlap with the audience of Kamet0 by more than 57.8%.
At the same time, JLTomy has the most unique audience among these five streamers, as 15.3% of Kamet0 viewers, 16.3% of ZeratoR audience, 18.4% of Sardoche viewers, and slightly above 14% of Ponce viewers watch his broadcasts.
