Most popular r/place 2023 Twitch clips

Despite being announced on July 19 — just a day before it began — the 2023 edition of Reddit’s critically-acclaimed r/place was a roaring success. At the end of its run at the stroke of midnight on July 25, the United States, Germany, and France were the three most active countries, with Twitch taking up almost 95% of all Hours Watched for this pixel wars event.

Moreover, like last year, there were lots of streamers who were especially critical to the attraction of this global phenomenon this time around. And to that degree, Streams Charts has listed the most popular broadcasts to involve this online art project.

Anyone who missed out on participating in the r/place event but wants to experience what it was like can check out Reddit’s official time-lapses on YouTube.

#10 OhnePixel — 12.3K views

We start with a clip of ohnePixel, who was scrolling through the canvas and explained to new viewers what it meant and what they needed to do to join in on the fun. The German added that they were spamming links for users to use as helpful guides and that a few artworks had already been created on the canvas, including the massive CS2 logo.

#9 Rubius — 14.2K views

This clip involves the Spanish streamer thanking Papaplatte for his support in helping him and his community create artwork on r/place without disturbances. In return, Rubius thanked his European peer and promised to go anywhere the latter wanted and lend a hand.

#8 Papaplatte — 16.2K views

This clip — the first of four entries for Papaplatte in this list — saw him get his viewers ready to say bye as the countdown to the end of r/place 2023 was happening. In a generous gesture, the German also ensured to capture this moment on stream and recognize viewers present alongside with a commemorative badge.

#7 Wuant — 18.7K views

Portuguese influencer wuant was keeping an attentive eye on proceedings in the online art project, and that was when this clip was taken by a fan. It involves the online star heading to the Discord server of tampermonkey — for the benefit of his audience — from where the special extension for r/place in his language could be added for a better experience.

#6 Papaplatte — 20.7K views

While r/place is meant to bring the entire internet community together, that also means the tricksters among them will come up with something a bit more edgy and risky to pull the admins' leg. That was what shocked Papaplatte, who saw the massive motif of the word 'f**k' on the canvas and lost his mind marveling at the sheer madness of those involved in creating it.

#5 OhnePixel — 23.2K views

CS:GO content creation star ohnePixel was one of the busiest during r/place 2023 as he was busy helping Germany be their usual efficient self at the event. During one of his checks on the progress of the canvas, he seemingly dissed Twitch, asking his viewers to add a message that read 'f**k Twitch' before revealing it as a joke. However, as it is with the online community, many were quick to snip this part out as his show of dissatisfaction with the platform and an early sign of him perhaps moving to Kick.

#4 Bratishkinoff — 28.8K views

As bratishkinoff, one of the stars for Russia during r/place 2023, was busy organizing his troops and getting ready to get to work on that canvas, he put on the 2020 song Brooklyn by Russian artists Andy Panda, Miagi, and TumaniYO on full blast. This was accompanied by some surreal hand-dancing gestures from the broadcaster, which led to many viewers clipping it and watching it thousands of times.

#3 Papaplatte — 45.3K views

The first of two entries for Papaplatte in the podium involves him showing his viewers how to overlay designs between Twitch and Reddit using github amidst the war that was unfolding on r/place. The German ended up breaking his channel's personal peak viewership record during this event, emerging as one of the undoubted stars of the show.

#2 — Papaplatte - 52.3K views

This clip of Papaplatte and his community beating their competitors under Twitch megastar xQc's leadership will live long in memory. It even left the Canadian in disbelief as he frantically accused his adversary of using bots to get the better of him. Whatever the case, top entertainment, that!

#1 Lturepublic — 58K views

Lithuania's lturepublic continued his feud from 2022 with r/BABYMETAL, a subreddit dedicated to the popular Japanese kawaii metal band BABYMETAL, which became the most viewed clip from r/place this year. The influencer watched on as his community of 3K-plus active users drew a portrait of Lithuanian King Vytautas over the artwork of their rivals, with some even suggesting he was usign bots to get his work done, as can be seen from the video's caption.
