Like any other platform, Twitch is expanding its audience by actively working in new regions, including Latin America. In 2020, the platform's top debutants were Brazilian and Argentinian content creators, including rappers, Garena Free Fire players and even a professional football player. Here’s the list of most watched newcomers to the platform at the end of last year.
The most popular Twitch newcomer of the last year was NOBRU, a popular Brazilian streamer and a Garena Free Fire player. He switched from YouTube to Twitch in March 2020 and has been streaming on both platforms for a while as a part of an agreement between companies. Particularly popular were his mobile battle royale show tournaments, the first of which attracted 294,000 Twitch viewers at its peak.
Brazil and the Garena Free Fire community in particular is also represented in the ranking by a LOUD member under the nickname Coringa. Content creator collected 8.7M hours watched, even though he had been streaming for less than five months: Coringa and the entire LOUD switched from Nimo to Twitch only in October.

Four Argentinian influencers made it to the top 10. Second in the rankings is popular local battle rapper Alejandro Andres Lococo, known as Papo MC (9.6 million hours), who created a Twitch channel in late May. Another representative of the hip-hop community finished seventh in the ranking: Lit Killah scored 5.1 million hours watched for broadcasts from June 9 to the end of the year.
One of the most popular Argentinian football players Sergio Kun Aguero is a striker for Manchester City and the national team: and he also really enjoyed streaming in 2020. He created his Twitch channel in April and by the end of the year had 4.87M hours watched (8th place).
After the outbreak of the pandemic Aguero admitted, that he rediscovered the world of video games. In October, he founded his own esports organization, and then signed MarkitoNavaja. He is one of the top streamers in Argentina who also debuted on Twitch in 2020 and goth fourth place in the rankings.
In total, six content makers from South America entered the top 10. The ranking also includes Japanese Apex Legends streamer 加藤純一です, League of Legends player dopa24, Spanish CS:GO player Tarifa and even German comedian Kaya Yanar!
Note that esports studios were excluded from the rating. Three of them could get into the top 10: Flashpoint and Winstrike TV cover CS:GO, and League of Legends is broadcasted on the Pacific Championship Series channel.
