The founder of Heretics David “TheGrefg” Canovas Martinez became the most-watched streamer in December, but this did not help his team in dethroning the owners of the first spot – Luminosity Gaming. Streams Charts presents an updated ranking of the most popular esports teams on Twitch.

Disclaimer: The ranking is based on the Total Hours Watched that viewers have spent on the streamers' broadcasts. The esports matches data was excluded from statistics.

Thanks to TheGrefg's New Year activity, his Heretics club amassed 28.8M Hours Watched in December; with the association’s founder and leader himself having amounted for more than 90% of the total. But the first spot was still retained by Luminosity with the most popular streamer of 2021 Felix xQcOW Lengyel: 29M Hours Watched, of which more than 80% were generated by the Canadian's viewers.

TSM and NRG Esports dropped to the third and fourth spots, respectively. In the case of Andy “Reginald” Dean's team, the audience most actively followed the popular GTA V RP-player Lucas “buddha” Ramos, while the streamer and Apex Legends pro player Phillip “TSM_ImperialHal” Dosen gathered the most Average Viewers. In NRG, Chance “sodapoppin” Morris became the leader, while Brandon “aceu” Wynn and Cody “Clix” Conrod also scored over 1M Hours Watched.

Brazilian organization LOUD ranked fourth in November, but didn't even make it to the top 10 in December. Such a drop is due to the fact that the leaders of the association (Victor “loud_coringa” Augusto and Gabriel “gabepeixe” Baptista) spent 20-30 hours less on air than a month earlier.

Cloud9 is closing the top 5 for the second month in a row as it gained 13.2M Hours Watched in December (10% more than in November). The club’s most popular streamer is TeamFight Tactics player Michael “k3soju” Zhang. He scored nearly four times more Hours Watched than the runner-up of the team Sebastian “Forsen” Fors.

Regarding the second half of the ranking, FaZe pushed T1 from the seventh spot. Team Liquid and G2 Esports took the sixth and ninth spots once again.

The Sentinels dropped out of the top 10, their spot now being taken by the 100 Thieves. The greatest contribution to the team's overall result was made by Kyedae “Kyedae” Shymko (3.2M Hours Watched) who covered the matches of Valorant Champions 2021. Interestingly, Shymko managed to get several times ahead of her closest teammate (Leslie “fuslie” Ann Fu) by all metrics, even though she didn't stream in December after Valorant Champions ended.
