Most popular streams and content of Q2 2025 — sports, esports & politics lead viewership

Most popular streams and content of Q2 2025 — sports, esports & politics lead viewership

Wrapping up the second quarter of 2025, Streams Charts breaks down the most popular content for April, May, and June. These months saw massive livestreaming viewerships for both esports and traditional sports, largely football, as well as political coverage dominating Twitch viewership. Read about all this and more in our Q2 2025 recap.

Similar to our previous top content of Q1 2025 recap, sports livestreaming dominated viewership for the quarter. Brazilian sports broadcaster Casimiro “CazéTV” Miguel was the most popular streamer of Q2 with over 5.56M Peak Viewers (PV) recorded for his coverage of the match between Flamengo and FC Bayern München at the FIFA Club World Cup. This PV marked his second-most-popular stream ever, and saw him top our quarterly reports back-to-back.

Another football broadcast comes second, as Turkish football club Galatasaray S.K. took to YouTube Live to announce their signing of German footballer Leroy Sané. The footballer previously played for FC Schalke 04 and Bayern in the Bundesliga, and appeared 90 times for Manchester City. Galatasaray Istanbul’s application of their YouTube channel as medium for this breaking news helped them set a new channel record by a massive margin.

In other news, gaming company Nintendo held one of their famous Nintendo Directs in early April. The Japanese company revealed details for upcoming releases from world-famous franchises like Mario Kart and Donkey Kong, as well as key information of their new Switch 2 console. This gaming exhibition was the only content to come close to the raw peak viewership power of football streams, with other collaborative events lagging behind in the rankings.

Making up the last two places, Fede Vigevani’s collaborative basketball event with streamers representing the United States and Latin Americans fell just shy of 1.6M PV. The event was organized together with MrBeast, with American leading the US team while Vigevani captained the Spanish-speaking side. Another flavor of international collaboration, the final of the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest also took place this quarter. The musical event reached a significant 1.42M PV on YouTube, complimenting its wide following through traditional television broadcasting.

Moving on from Peak Viewers, which captures a brief moment in a stream’s popularity, our watch time rankings represent some of the top streamers from around the globe. For this purpose, we have excluded organizational channels — which often broadcast 24/7 — to better highlight individual creators and personalities.

Most watched livestreaming content of Q2 2025, by watch time

In terms of the most-watched content of the quarter, CazéTV once again an outlier, outperforming every other livestreamer in the world by hundreds of millions Hours Watched (HW). In total, for his sports broadcasting throughout Q2 2025, the Brazilian commentator received over 311.3M HW, most of which came from his highly-followed FIFA Club World Cup streams. However, he also broadcasted various other sporting events including table tennis, the Kings League, and more.

The next-most-watched content for Q2 2025 was again a repeat result from last quarter. Frei Gilson, a Brazilian priest with musical talents, held special livestreamed masses early in the morning through the Christian observance of Lent. Although it finished up in early April, his streams across these two weeks in the beginning of Q2 still generated almost 32M HW and ranked him ahead of many other global icons.

The first esports content of our ranking, British esports caster and co-streamer Marc “Caedrel” Robert Lamont received over 27.3M HW for his League of Legends coverage during the quarter. There was no lack of esports events for him to cover; from the international MSI 2025 to various regional circuits around the globe, the Brit kept busy during Q2 and accumulated industry-leading viewership for the esports sector.

Last but not least, Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker and zackrawrr (also known as Asmongold) picked up the final places thanks to their Just Chatting streams. While zackrawrr dips his toes in politics, his coverage throughout Q2 was more general, covering new game releases and mainstream topics. HasanAbi was more focused purely on political coverage these months, with plenty of topics in the mainstream headlines for him to discuss.
