Supernova: Genesis, a Mexican amateur boxing event between celebrities and streamers, was livestreamed on April 26. It reached a massive audience base across the Latin American world, peaking at over 2.3 million concurrent viewers and putting the official channel among the year's most popular broadcasts.
How many viewers watched the Supernova: Genesis?

Supernova: Genesis reached almost 2.31 million Peak Viewers (PV) during the bout between rising Mexican content creator Abraham "elabrahaham" Flores and popular Venezuelan influencer and streamer José "Nando" Broianigo.
In one of the more surprising results of the night, elabrahaham clinched a win despite Nando appearing so confident of a win pre-match that he had bet his YouTube diamond plate on the result going his way. However, after the unexpected loss, Nando, part of the Yolo Aventuras content team, will have to hand over this recognition to his rival.

Across Twitch, YouTube and Kick, 79 channels livestreamed this event, including official channels and community streamers. YouTube, which continues to be the most preferred platform in Latin America, accounted for over 85% of the total watch time.
Moreover, the official Supernova: Genesis YouTube channel peaked at more than 1.8 million viewers, putting it among the ten most viewed channels for the year. On a list including other sports and entertainment entries like the Sidemen Charity Match 2026 and the Brazilian football coverage, Supernova: Genesis sits in the ninth spot.
It was also the Supernova: Genesis channel's second most popular livestream ever. Only the inaugural boxing event, named Supernova Strikers Amigo, did better, having hit 2.23 million Peak Viewers, with no other broadcast even crossing 65K PV.
Among individual creators, Juan "juansguarnizo" Guarnizo and elabrahaham were the most popular channels. In fact, fans were so keen to see the latter take on Nando that his Twitch and Kick channels finished among the top channels by concurrent viewership among co-casters.
What is the Supernova: Genesis, and what happened during the event?
Genesis was the second boxing event under the Supernova Strikers, a live, star-studded boxing event featuring influencers and celebrities alongside musical performances. The series was created by Miguel Angel Fox and takes inspiration from La Velada del Año, the highly successful amateur boxing event organized by Spanish Twitch superstar Ibai "Ibai" Llanos.
Supernova: Genesis was the first event in the series to also be broadcast on Netflix, airing live from the Arena CDMX on April 26. The streaming giant did not leave any stone unturned to promote it, bringing in top local artists like Carín León, Óscar Maydon and Ozuna to perform between each bout.

There were six bouts in total at the Genesis event, with the results listed below:
- Mica "Milica" Ybañez beat Kim Shantal by unanimous decision
- Elabrahaham beat José Broianigo by TKO
- Guillermo "Willito" Peña beat Víctor "Lonche" Ordóñez by TKO
- Karely Ruiz beat Kim Shantal by split decision
- Aarón Mercury beat Mario Bautista by KO
- Florencia Vigna beat Alana "alanalarana" Flores by unanimous decision
The event was not short of talking points, as Ari Geli had to withdraw due to health problems, with the organizers announcing that Kim Shantal would replace her as Milica's opponent. This meant that Shantal pulled double duty, as she had another bout lined up later on the card.
Interestingly, Shantal's scheduled bout also saw a change in its participant, with Karely Ruiz coming in as a stand-in for Lupita Villalobos. Content creator, entrepreneur and podcast host Villalobos had to back away from her bout after being diagnosed with a subdural hematoma.
Elsewhere, Mexican influencer Alana Flores saw her short, undefeated streak in amateur boxing come to an end at the hands of Argentine actor and dancer Florencia "Flor" Vigna by unanimous decision.
Supernova: Genesis proved yet again that the combination of sports, especially boxing, and entertainment forms a heady cocktail on streaming. Such events tend to draw massive crowds to the venue and attract millions of eyeballs when broadcast live, and the community can expect many more such events during the rest of the year. Streams Charts will be on hand to cover them all.
