TimTheTatman — the first six months on YouTube

TimTheTatman — the first six months on YouTube
Share:

YouTube has signed up several major Twitch streamers over the past two years. One of them is the charismatic Call of Duty player Timothy ‘TimTheTatman’ Betar. The 31-year-old streamer from the U.S. celebrated six months on the platform on March 1. When streamers switch to new services, they usually lose a significant part of their audience, but Tim did not. Streams Charts analyzed the statistics of the American creator.

Overall dynamics

The switch to YouTube allowed Betar to spend more time with his family and less time thinking about money, as the streamer himself said in an interview with the Insider. And he actually started streaming less: the creator was on air for 591 hours from September to March. In comparison, the same number in the last six months on Twitch was almost 54% higher.

The drop in the total time viewers spend watching TimTheTaman's broadcasts was due to the decrease of the streamer's Airtime. The six-month total on YouTube was 60% lower than the last six months on Twitch (20.2 million against 33.9 million Hours Watched). At the same time, the second key metric — the Average Viewers number — remained almost unchanged, decreasing by 3% (from 37.2K to 36K spectators).

September remained Betar's most successful month on YouTube by Peak Viewers: his first broadcast was watched by almost 116K PV, while in the other months this metric did not exceed 67K viewers. In comparison, the American attracted up to 152K and 139K people on Twitch in April and August of the previous year, respectively. Betar's personal record is 347K Peak Viewers on the broadcast where he won Fall Guys for the first time (August 2020).

Popular Games

TimTheTatman became a streamer back in 2013, and his first popularity with gamers grew from his Call of Duty Black Ops 2 broadcasts. Betar is a big fan of the series, and for the last year he has been devoting most of his time to Call of Duty: Warzone.

The audience spent the most time watching Warzone broadcasts of all the content on Twitch from March to September — 65.1% or 22.1 million Hours Watched. Other games accounted for fewer than 10% of the total (Apex Legends, Valorant, and New World are among them), and the Just Chatting category accounted for 13% of the total HW.

Tim began to devote even more time to streaming Call of Duty: Warzone on YouTube: this category accounted for nearly 80% of his total Hours Watched in six months. In addition to his beloved Battle Royale, Betar also streamed Call of Duty: Vanguard (including coverage of the Call of Duty League launch) and played Halo Infinite, Fortnite, Battlefield 2042, and Lost Ark.

In early 2022, TimTheTatman is one of the most popular streamers on YouTube and is ahead of many other popular creators who have joined YouTube in the past few years (including DrDisRespect and Valkyrae) by viewership statistics. By early March, only IShowSpeed and the official Battlegrounds Mobile India channel (PUBG Mobile's local market analog) outpace Tim in terms of Hours Watched.
