An important metric for Twitch streamers to grow their brands is their ability to engage with their audiences, for which Streams Charts has created metrics like overall audience reach and concurrent viewership. The former refers to a content creator's ability to reach as many people as possible, while the latter shows how good they are at keeping large portions of viewers engaged with a broadcast throughout its duration.
Similarly, there are metrics such as Average Daily Estimated Audience and Active Chatters, and listed below are the ten best streamers by each criterion from last month.
Streamers with highest Average Daily Estimated Audience in April 2023
Atop this list is ibai with an average daily estimated audience of 389K over 7.16M Hours Watched. The Spanish megastar has been busy promoting and broadcasting the Kings and Queens leagues, which he co-runs, and matches of his esports organization KOI.
In second is xQc, who had an average daily estimated audience of 317K over a massive 15.16M HW, which is by far the most on this top ten list and one of only two instances to cross the ten million mark. The Canadian has been busy speedrunning Minecraft as part of his ongoing feud for the record with Forsen, apart from playing a lot more CS:GO (actually CS2).
KaiCenat is next with a 278K average daily estimated audience, with the platform’s newest superstar taking it easy post his record-breaking subathon. The American has been playing a lot of games recently, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Resident Evil 4.
Coming in the fourth position is tarik with an average daily estimated audience of 252K, with the Valorant celebrity busy covering the various tournaments happening globally as part of Sentinels’ roster of content creators. The retired CS:GO pro has also delved into popular titles like Fortnite and The Last of Us Part I.
Rounding off the top five is Gaules with a 215K average daily estimated audience, while he is the other name to cross 10M watch hours, logging in at 13.44M HW. The Brazilian Twitch VIP is a pretty well-known esports caster, and over the past 30 days, he has streamed a lot of CS:GO events and some NBA games.
The bottom five names on this top ten leaderboard include a whose who of the streaming world, including auronplay, PaulinhoLOKObr, and IlloJuan. The other entries are MontanaBlack88 and aminematue, taking up the seventh and ninth spots. They play various games like Grand Theft Auto V, Minecraft, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
What is interesting is that higher watch hours or concurrent viewership counts do not seem to affect the rankings of streamers on this metric positively. XQc and Gaules have a massive advantage over their competitors in the former regard, but they were unable to match the Estimated Audience numbers of their peers, showing that quality and the type of content play a major role in attracting more viewers at any given point in time.
Streamers with most Active Chatters in April 2023
Leading this leaderboard is ElMariana with 244K Active Chatters, as he has been favoring Just Chatting, Minecraft, and Resident Evil 4 over the past month. The Mexican internet star remains one of the defining names in the Spanish-speaking community, as seen from the fact that he attained this number over just 3.54M HW, pointing to a high audience engagement ratio per millie viewers every broadcast.
Coming in second is xQc, who notched an Active Chatter count of 202K, another indicator of his undying popularity among Twitch regulars and streaming fans. Following him is Gaules with 198K Active Chatters, another who has managed to retain his fame over the years and continues to inspire countless people in the industry.
ElSpreen is fourth with an Active Chatter count of 174K, as he has been giving Roblox some love, apart from the general activities like Just Chatting and Minecraft. The Argentinean is one of the top names from his country in this industry, and that has ensured he remains a staple in such lists.
In the fifth spot is Jynxzi with 158K Active Chatters, thanks to his streams of games like Rainbow Six Siege and FIFA 23, which have vocal fan bases. The American has steadily grown over the months and is now one of the fastest-growing Twitch broadcasters, especially in English.
The last five names involve three we have already discussed — tarik, Kai Cenat, and auronplay. The latter of these names is another big-time Spanish creator leading the country’s charge toward redefining the industry and what it means to produce high-quality live broadcasts and content that keep audiences coming back for more. That has helped make him the second-most followed channel on the purple platform.
As usual, it is rivers_gg who is flying the flag high for female content creators, having eight on this list. Her heavy involvement in the ongoing Kings and Queens leagues has no doubt helped her maintain a high Active Chatters rate. The last name to mention is Rubius, who has also been busy checking out CS2, apart from playing a lot of Super Mario Maker 2. He is another one of the most followed streamers on Twitch, coming in third on the leaderboard.
There is only one other female creator within the top 20 apart from Rivers, and that is the highly sought-after AMOURANTH, so perhaps that imbalance is something Twitch might look to address in the coming months. Also, as already alluded to, there continues to be a dominance of Hispanic broadcasters on these lists, showing where the current balance of power lies in the ever-changing streaming world.
If we were to include organization handles and not just individual streamers, these lists would be very different, especially the one with an Estimated Audience. Channels like Kings League, LCK, BLAST Premier, LEC, LCS, BLAST, and ESL_DOTA2 would have appeared, but that is a discussion for another time and article.
