On April 21, Twitch banned David "D4vd" Burke following the discovery of serious developments in his ongoing trial. The company's move came after the autopsy report of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whom the singer and streamer is charged with killing, was finally released.
How popular was D4vd on livestreaming?
The 21-year-old alt-pop singer was active on major livestreaming platforms, including Twitch, Kick, and YouTube. He has around 80,000 followers on the Amazon-owned service, where he averaged a few hundred viewers per broadcast.

D4vd's most popular Twitch livestream came in May last year, when a collaborative stream with Imane "Pokimane" Anys and global pop girl group KATSEYE peaked at over 11,000 viewers. Pokimane addressed D4vd's arrest via a tweet after the news of his alleged crime first came to light in September 2025. She said she hoped "justice will be served soon".
The singer, who shot to fame thanks to the success of his 2022 hit Romantic Homicide, was not nearly as active on Kick. He was one of the first names to join the Stake-backed platform in mid-2023, but only streamed a handful of times there.
What are the latest developments from D4vd's ongoing trial?
The musician is facing first-degree murder charges for allegedly killing and dismembering the body of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The autopsy report released on Wednesday stated that the 14-year-old died from penetrating wounds to her upper body.
A report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office also ruled Hernandez's death a homicide. Moreover, the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office surmised that the murder occurred on April 23, 2025. This was a few days before D4vd's debut album, Withered, which opened at No 13 on the Billboard 200, was released.
Months later, police reportedly discovered Rivas' decomposed and dismembered body in an impounded Tesla registered to D4vd. The prosecutors also claimed that D4vd was "involved in an illegal sexual relationship with the teenager." He apparently murdered Hernandez after she "threatened to expose his criminal conduct and devastate his musical career."
Twitch is usually very severe on crimes perpetrated by its content creators, even if they are yet to be proven guilty. While D4vd is currently in the same boat, the evidence collected against him will not make his defense easy, and it remains to be seen how his trial goes over the next few days and months.
