Twitch partners and affiliates are an integral part of the platform ecosystem. Content creators have to work hard to gain these statuses (and their corresponding privileges) by regularly increasing audiences, adhering to broadcasting schedules and durations, and making many other obligations. The Streams Charts editorial team calculated the number of partners and affiliates on Twitch by the end of Q3 2022.
Who are affiliates and partners? Basically, both of these statuses describe the same thing — the relationship between a content creator and the platform. Affiliates earn revenue by selling paid subscriptions on their channels, as well as a percentage of game sales from the service's customers (for example, when a streamer plays a newly released game and offers viewers to buy it in the store using his or her referral link). Affiliate is the first step to becoming a Twitch partner.
It gets even more interesting with the partner status. In fact, a partner can do all the same things as an affiliate, but he or she has more opportunities and privileges. An affiliate shares revenue with the platform at a 50%-50% ratio, while partners with a large audience can receive up to 70%. Partners have access to animated emotes (affiliates have the default ones without animation). Twitch partners can stream in higher quality, they get faster access to the service's technical support, longer broadcast records storage, the option to put a delay on a stream, and some other bonuses. It is important to note that the status of "partner" requires the streamer to strictly follow the rules of Twitch, starting from the behavior and ending with the broadcasting schedule. In particular, because of these rules, some content creators have deliberately refused to partner with the platform. For example, Ninja has recently done so when he decided to stream not only on Twitch, but also on other services.
Auronplay, a Spanish streamer with 13.9 million followers by the end of September, leads the Twitch ranking of partners by the number of followers in Q3 2022. Rubius comes in second place with 12.8 million followers. The Top 3 is rounded out by Ibai, another popular streamer from Spain (11.6 million followers). The American streamer Tfue and xQc from Canada are also in the Top 5 of the ranking, with 11.2 million followers on each channel.
As for affiliates, the Ukrainian streamer Evelone192 has the greatest number of followers — over 2.3 million. In recent months he mostly streamed in Just Chatting, CS:GO and Virtual Casino categories. In second place is dreamwastaken, the second channel of Dream, one of the most popular Minecraft streamers, who has recently revealed his face, which caused a great stir in the gaming community.
The Top 5 Twitch affiliates in Q3 2022 also includes PintiPanda and HandIOfIBlood. The former is a popular YouTuber from Turkey who likes to play such titles as Age of Empires IV, Dead by Daylight, Assassins Creed Valhalla, The Last of Us and others. As for HandIOfIBlood, he's a well-known creator from Germany. He rarely streams on Twitch and specializes more in creating entertaining game-themed videos for his YouTube channel. He plays different titles from time to time, but usually there's more thrash and humor in these videos than the gameplay itself.
The leader by total number of subscriptions in Q3 2022 is the Brazilian streamer casimito — his channel got more than 192.1K subscriptions. It should be noted that a large role in this is attributed to him streaming the football match between the Brazilian teams Corinthians and Fluminense in the semifinals of 2022 Copa do Brasil. You could watch the game live only if you were a subscriber of the channel, so casimito got more than 48.5K new subs during the stream.
Second place is taken by xQc with 162.5K new subscriptions, while KaiCenat, a new Twitch star, is in third place with 129.4K paid subscriptions: his channel was the fastest-growing on Twitch in Q3. The only European in the Top 5 is the German streamer Eliasn97 (101K subs).
Two female streamers, SinderVTuber from the U.S. and avacrown_ from Germany, got the most subs in the affiliate ranking. Their channels have 19.8K and 16.2K subs, respectively. The Top 5 also includes ClassicBeef, Real_Bazzi and kato_junichi0817.
