Recently, social media saw a few leaks showing Kylie "Sketch" Cox in adult content that went viral. After a few days without comment, the popular streamer took to addressing the issue on a live stream, apologizing to fans and clarifying that he was dealing with 'addiction' at the time of making the content.
The Twitch star, who emerged as one of its most popular and fastest-growing content creators earlier this year thanks to his positive attitude and sense of humour, also confirmed it was indeed him in those leaks. This came in response to fans who saw the media, which first came to light on July 7, and questioned if it was actually him.
Sketch added during the July 8 live broadcast on the purple platform that the adult content was made during a dark time in his life. He was apparently suffering from 'addiction problems' and apologized to fans who had come across these videos and photos of him. He said:
"Yeah, that was me. I f*cked up. I won't do it again; that was a dark time. A rough time. But on a real note, I've been living under the threat of that coming out for two years. Started social media, just kind of dicking around, had that in my past. I'll tell you what. Weight lifted off my shoulders. God is good. All the time."
The American revealed that — despite hoping things would never come out — if this part of his life was to ever be made public, he had a few plans to fall back on. One was 'to call it quits' and leave the industry entirely while the other was a far more scary thought:
"My original plan had two things. One, either be delusional and think it's never gonna come out, or two… what's the plan after? The plan after was not very good. If I was alone and I was at my house, I probably wouldn’t be talking to you right now."
Sketch currently has 1.08M followers on the Amazon-owned broadcasting service, with a huge 998,885 of these coming between January 1 and July 10. This has put him among the most-watched streamers on Twitch when looking at followers gained in the time mentioned above, putting him in an illustrious club with names like Kai Cenat, Cody "Clix' Conrod, Martin "MrSavage" Foss Andersen, and Victor "loud_coringa" Augusto.
He has also accrued a significant following on TikTok, where his catchphrase, 'What's up, brother?' has become quite famous and attracted attention from big-name NFL players and its official account on the video-sharing app.
For readers wondering 'Why NFL?' the answer is simple. The 25-year-old used this highly popular American sport as his vehicle to fame, with his content on the game making him one of its biggest personalities, especially on TikTok. He is also famous for his gameplay and collab videos on titles like Madden, Rainbow Six Siege, and Fall Guys.
Sketch added during the livestream that he had his parents and good friends, like Richard "FaZe Banks" Bengston, to thank for helping him get through this difficult time and keeping him in the streaming business. He disclosed:
"I'll openly admit: Plan A was to call it quits if this ever came out, but some people saved me. Shout out, Banks. Shout out, my parents. Shout out y'all. I f*cked up, but I'm changed."
He added that he will be taking a short break before resuming streaming, opining that he'd 'rather y'all know my flaws than be a poster boy for good behaviour.' He even jokingly asked himself 'What did Kim Kardashian do?' when debating whether to quit streaming or continue with it towards the end of the broadcast.
Not everything needs to be broadcast & farmed, but since yall wana jump to crazy assumptions Sketch told me to post these receipts. All the FaZe boys were with him last night. Sketch was my homie yesterday, he’s my homie today, he'll be my homie tomorrow. You guys are fkn weirdos pic.twitter.com/rNC3yfo4DF

Right before Sketch went live, FaZe Banks himself took to X to show his support. The co-founder of the popular esports organization posted a series of messages exchanged with the influencer and some photos of the glasses and shoes he left behind when rushing to the airport after the leaks went viral
Readers must also note that the broadcaster is good friends with Nicholas "Jynxzi" Stewart and Case "Caseoh" Dylan Baker, both of who only recently exploded onto the Twitch scene. In fact, most of Sketch's most popular live streams involve him collaborating or playing alongside one or both of these internet personalities.
Jynxzi even spoke about this controversy during a live stream from July 8 captioned 'I stand with Sketch,' where he offered a tearful message of support to his friend and called out fans and content creators who criticized Sketch after the leaks:
"Absolutely nobody is perfect. Everybody goes through s**t, everybody has s**t and to me, bro, a friend is a friend no matter what."
He even asked fans and viewers on TikTok who support him 'to send Sketch love because, at the end of the day, that's what he needs more than anything right now.' It remains to be seen if Twitch, notorious for banning or taking action against its streamers during controversies, will come up with any response, while fans also await further updates from Sketch regarding his immediate future.
