The open world survival action game V Rising turned out to be one of the most successful game releases of May. The game by Stunlock Studios was released to the public at the beginning of last week, and gamers immediately fell in love with it. At some point, it even outperformed such a mastodon as Grand Theft Auto V in terms of online on Steam. In addition to the success in sales, the game also made a very good debut on streaming services, including Twitch. Streams Charts takes a look at the statistics of the game on the platform.
Developed using the Unity engine, the game is an open world survival where the player takes on the role of a vampire who has to collect resources to build his castle and fight off powerful enemies. V Rising features both PvP and PvE battles.
Just a few days after its early access release, the game sold over 500K copies on Steam. Gamers have made over 11K reviews for the game, the vast majority of which are positive. The game was an all-around success, including streaming.
Over the past seven days, from May 17 to May 23, the game has racked up over 8.3M Hours Watched on Twitch, making it the tenth most watched category on the platform across this period. The title from Stunlock Studios has outmatched many of the top titles including Call of Duty: Warzone, FIFA 22, and Minecraft.
On the day of release, the game gathered more than 137K Peak Viewers on Twitch, which is by now the title’s highest figure on the platform. At the same time, according to the dynamics of Hours Watched and the Peak Audience as a whole, it is clear that the interest of viewers in the game is waning day by day. But the same cannot be said for streamers.
In contrast to the game’s viewership figures, the number of creators simultaneously streaming the game on Twitch is only growing, albeit not at the highest pace. Over the week, V Rising was broadcasted by over 1.1K Peak Channels, and the game's current record was set on May 23 with 1,255 channels broadcasting the game.
Hundreds of different content creators played V Rising, even those who rarely deal with games of this genre. The vast majority of the category’s Hours Watched on Twitch was generated by the English-language channels, which are accountable for over 58% of the total.
Other languages showed similar results. The second spot went to French, as the game was tested by top creators such as ZeratoR and Ponce. Notable, it were AlphaCast and Tonton who became the leaders in terms of Hours Watched by language. Closing the top 3 languages was Portuguese, with the broadcasts from the Brazilians alanzoka and YoDa being particularly successful.
The top 5 streamers in terms of Total Hours Watched and Peak Viewers were mostly English-speaking content creators. In particular, both rankings include shroud (top 1 in HW), LIRIK, and alanzoka. In addition, we should mention CohhCarnage, who took second place in terms of HW, and loltyler1, who became the leader in terns Peak Viewers (29.7K Peak Viewers).
When it comes to either sales or streaming platforms, the debut of V Rising was extremely successful. However, the title is unlikely to stay in the top as long as Lost Ark and Elden Ring. You can find more detailed V Rising statistics on the game page on Streams Charts.
