The Witcher 3 Remastered breaks player record but misses Twitch’s top 10

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered generated over 1.15 million Hours Watched on Twitch. An updated version of CD Projekt RED’s iconic game launched on September 29 but failed to break into the platform’s top 10 most-watched games.

The release attracted both longtime fans of the franchise and new players, helping the title set a new concurrent player record. According to the game’s Steam page, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered reached 120,900 concurrent players following the update, setting a new all-time record for the title.

How did The Witcher 3 Remastered perform on Twitch?

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered had a more modest debut in livestreaming, generating over 1.15 million Hours Watched on Twitch. Peak Viewers reached 124,400, with nearly 2,200 unique channels broadcasting the game. These figures combine two categories: the original The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt category and the new The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered category, which appeared on the platform later.

Despite the hype surrounding the update, neither category entered Twitch’s top 10 by Hours Watched on the remaster’s release day. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered ranked 11th.

The Witcher 3 Remastered and Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Viewership Comparison

One way to assess a game’s launch performance is to compare it with similar releases. For The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, we chose Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, a remaster of Ubisoft’s popular title released in summer 2026. Both games belong to established franchises and received substantial upgrades to their graphics and gameplay mechanics.

According to Streams Charts, Black Flag Resynced attracted a larger Twitch audience at launch than Wild Hunt Remastered. On its release day, the pirate adventure generated 22% more Hours Watched, while peak and average viewership was 15–16% higher than on streams featuring Geralt.

Black Flag Resynced also attracted more top streamers. TheBurntPeanut, Erik "GRONKH" Range, and Michael "shroud" Grzesiek had the most-watched channels on its release day, but none covered the launch of Wild Hunt Remastered. Several creators streamed both games, including Saqib "LIRIK" Ali Zahid and MissMikkaa.
