Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022 was held on June 12, showing many trailers of game titles to be released over the next year on Xbox and PC. In the new article, Streams Charts overviews the event’s biggest announcements and viewership statistics.
The presentation began with the first gameplay demonstration of the co-op shooter Redfall and ended with a gameplay trailer for the space RPG Starfield. Both games will be released in 2023 and will be exclusive to Xbox Series X|S and PC. Note that Starfield will be the first brand-new game universe from the developers of The Elder Scrolls and Fallout in 25 years, while the authors of Prey and Dishonored are responsible for Redfall.
All in all, more than 30 games were shown at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022, including Hollow Knight: Silksong, COCOON, Diablo IV, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. It is worth mentioning that many of these titles will appear in Xbox Game Pass immediately after the release.
One of the most memorable announcements of the presentation was the collaboration between Xbox Game Studios and Kojima Productions. Well-known game designer Hideo Kojima has announced that he is developing the game that he has always wanted to make. According to him, Microsoft's cloud technologies and the change in industry trends allowed him to start working on an unseen-before concept.
In total, Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022 broadcasts generated almost 3.9M Hours Watched and attracted 1.8M Average Viewers. The mark of 2.3M Peak Viewers was reached during the demonstration of the Starfield gameplay trailer.
The Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022 was streamed on Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook, but Amazon’s platform was the most popular, generating more than 57% of the total Hours Watched. At the same time, the leaders of the event in terms of all indicators were the Xbox and IGN YouTube channels, with the Xbox Twitch channel coming third.
The Top 5 channels of the event also includes Spanish variety streamer Alejandro alexelcapo Fernandez and the thegameawards YouTube channel — they drew 87.9K and 87.1K Peak Viewers, respectively. The Gamespot website YouTube channel and the Twitch channel of thegameawards rank 6th and 7th in the Top. Streamers Rubius and LIRIK take 8th and 9th places, respectively, while Bethesda YouTube channel rounds out the Top 10.
