Streamer University 2026 became one of the year’s biggest livestreaming events, drawing coverage from over 6,000 channels

Kai Cenat’s Streamer University 2026 became one of the year’s biggest creator-led livestreaming events. While the on-site class was limited to 120 students, the event expanded far beyond the campus: around 6,000 channels broadcast content related to Streamer University, helping it generate 56.79 million Hours Watched and reach 1.45 million Peak Viewers. Both figures more than doubled compared with last year.

The scale of the event also created a much broader distribution network than Kai Cenat’s own broadcasts alone. With students, mentors, and thousands of other creators streaming around Streamer University, more than 20 sponsors had opportunities to reach viewers across a highly fragmented ecosystem of channels rather than through a single central broadcast.

Held from July 15 to 20 at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, Streamer University brought together 120 selected students for six days of lectures, creator workshops, campus activities, sports competitions, and, crucially, near-continuous livestreaming of their experience.

Streamer University 2026 Viewership Statistics

Over 6,000 unique channels covered Streamer University 2026, roughly 30% fewer than last year. Despite the smaller number of broadcasters, the event attracted a significantly larger audience, with both Hours Watched and Peak Viewers more than doubling year over year.

Streamer University 2026 Viewership Statistics

Few creator-led events in 2026 have operated at a comparable scale. Streamer University generated 12 times more Hours Watched than Jynxzi’s Streamer League of Legends Tourney and around 10 times more than The Streamer Awards 2025. Its total watch time also exceeded everything TheBurntPeanut accumulated on Twitch during the first half of the year and was 3.5 times higher than coverage of NASA’s Artemis II Crew Launches to the Moon.

The event’s impact was particularly visible on Twitch. Between July 15 and 20, the Streamer University category alone generated over 56 million Hours Watched, making it the platform’s most-watched category during the period by a wide margin — ahead even of Just Chatting. It accounted for around 15% of all Twitch watch time over those six days, while additional Streamer University-related coverage also took place outside the dedicated category.

Kai Cenat led all channels by watch time during Streamer University 2026, generating 6.75 million Hours Watched on Twitch and another 2.7 million on YouTube over the six-day event.

The event’s biggest breakout story, however, belonged to Suburbbaby, who was also named MVP of the graduating class. Before Streamer University 2026, his broadcasts typically attracted only a few dozen viewers, occasionally climbing into the hundreds. During the event, his audience expanded dramatically.

Much of that growth came through IRL coverage, as Suburbbaby roamed the campus, interacted with other students, and gave viewers a constant behind-the-scenes look at the event. His channel reached a new personal record of 195.3K Peak Viewers during Streamer University 2026 and had grown to more than 777K Twitch followers by the end of the event.

Suburbbaby was not the only creator to set a new channel record. Roberto "Fanum" Pena, who played the role of campus police officer throughout the event, peaked at 191K viewers during a staged confrontation with Kai Cenat on the final day. The storyline culminated in Kai stripping him of his security badge and passing the role to Quvon "2xRakai" Linder.

Jason "JasonTheWeen" Nguyen also reached a new all-time high, peaking at 161.8K viewers on the second day during another staged storyline involving a poolside confrontation between Suburbbaby and Kai Cenat.

The impact extended beyond concurrent viewership. According to figures shared on social media, Streamer University students and mentors gained more than 5 million followers combined during the first two days alone. WardrobeWinter was among the clearest examples of that growth: he had only begun streaming on Twitch in June, but his channel had already reached 450K followers by the end of Streamer University 2026.

Streamer University 2026: Channel Geography, Platforms and Sponsors

Given Streamer University’s focus on U.S.-based creators, American channels generated more than 69% of the event’s total Hours Watched. However, creators from several other countries also participated in or covered the event, giving it some reach beyond the United States.

Streamer University 2026: Channel Geography, Platforms and Sponsors

Twitch was by far the primary platform for Streamer University 2026, accounting for nearly 85% of total Hours Watched. YouTube played a much smaller role, with the platform’s audience heavily concentrated around Kai Cenat’s own broadcasts rather than a similarly broad network of participating channels.

The event also served as a sizable brand activation platform, bringing together more than 20 partners ranging from Twitch and YouTube to Red Bull, Shopify, Meta, Dell, State Farm, and Crocs. Among commercial partners, Red Bull, Zaxby’s, and TONE were among the brands most frequently mentioned across event chats.

Partners used several different approaches to integrate themselves into the event. Some focused on product seeding and campus visibility: CH@mobile provided every participant with a smartphone, while Red Bull supplied students with branded mini-fridges and sponsored the Best Professor award, which went to Ludwig  "Ludwig" Ahgren. Others tied their brands more directly to creator development, with Shopify appearing in discussions around entrepreneurship, digital ownership, and e-commerce, while Dell attached a sponsorship opportunity to the event’s Valedictorian award.

Zaxby’s took a more consumer-facing approach, providing food on campus and launching a custom Kai Meal alongside an interactive “Sauce Quest” activation.

Streamer University 2026 highlights

While education remained central to Streamer University 2026, much of the event’s appeal came from the freedom students had to create their own content around the campus experience. Broadcasts ranged from gaming and IRL streams to unboxings, collaborations, and more chaotic stunts, producing dozens of parallel storylines throughout the six-day event. One of the stranger moments came on the opening day, when Jordyn Lucas presented Kai Cenat with a live rat as a gift.

Streamer University also attracted attention from outside the streaming world. On the opening day, Drake addressed the students, wished them luck, and sent each participant an OVO gift package containing Nike NOCTA apparel, fragrances, and other merchandise. Several students unboxed the packages live, joking that Drake had stopped short of including a new Lamborghini.

Another standout moment came on MeesterKeem’s stream, where he opened a Team Rocket Box alongside Kai Cenat and several Streamer University mentors. Among the pulls was a rare Dark Charizard Holo card valued at around $17,000. MeesterKeem later said that all of the cards would be auctioned, with the proceeds donated to Alveus Sanctuary, the nonprofit exotic animal sanctuary and conservation education center founded by streamer Maya Higa.

The program also extended beyond streaming and classroom sessions. Streamer University hosted a basketball exhibition game between the Class of 2026 and returning 2025 alumni, with the newcomers taking the victory. Clarence_NYC earned MVP honors, while Maxwell Elliot "PlaqueBoyMax" Dent scored 30 points in a game coached by Lethal Shooter and Din "Agent00" Muktar. Afterward, Kai Cenat promised every player on the winning team a custom championship ring inspired by those awarded in the NBA.

Who participated in Streamer University 2026?

This year’s student lineup included 2xRaKai, Rayasianboy, and several other Streamer University 2025 participants who returned for a second year. The class also featured more established creators, including Kylie “Sketch” Cox, Rani “StableRonaldo” Netz, Jason “JasonTheWeen” Nguyen, and Nick “Lacy” Fosco.

Streamer University 2026 featured mentors such as Ludwig Ahgren, Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter, Din “Agent00” Muktar, Brittany “Cinna” Lynn Watts, Alexander “Adapt” Hamilton, and others. Their sessions focused on practical aspects of building a creator career, including financial management, sponsorship negotiations, and access to legal and mental health support.

Streamer University 2027

Streamer University now appears set to become a recurring fixture on the creator-event calendar. Kai Cenat has said he plans to hold it “every year as long as I’m alive,” and has already announced that the next edition will take place in Europe, although further details have yet to be revealed.

Its growth also reflects a broader expansion of creator-led entertainment beyond conventional livestreaming formats. Projects such as La Velada del Año and the Kings League have shown how individual creators can build large-scale event properties around their communities; with thousands of channels covering its second edition and more than 56 million Hours Watched generated across the event, Streamer University is increasingly operating on a similar scale.
