An endless TV show, created entirely by artificial intelligence, has gone viral on Twitch. The ChatGPT algorithm took care of the plot and dialogues, and the DALL-E software transforms the text into a picture. As a result, we got a kind of "Seinfeld", a popular American sitcom of the 90s.
The project was launched by the Mismatch media lab. The first broadcasts of the show, called "Nothing, Forever", kicked off back on November 30, 2022 on the watchmeforever channel. Since then, it has been streamed 24 hours a day, almost nonstop. Only a couple of people watched it until recently. But when the media wrote about the unusual project, the channel's viewership immediately grew to several thousand people.
At the time of publication, "Nothing, Forever" had over 14.3K Peak Viewers. Moreover, the watchmeforever channel gained more than 50K followers in just 24 hours, the best result among the organization's channels, it grows at the same pace as Top 5 most popular Twitch streamers over the past week. By the time you read the news, these numbers may have grown even more. Usually it can take years for ordinary streamers to achieve such numbers.
However, it is too early for Hollywood to worry. As the channel's viewers say, the show seems strange rather than amusing. The first thing that catches your eye is the awkward camera angles, as well as the confused editing of the scenes. Active dialogues can alternate with long pauses or inappropriately inserted sound effects like applause or laughter. The plot also lacks depth, and the quality of graphics do not have anything to boast about.
At the same time, many viewers find the drawbacks quite funny — many come to the broadcast just to laugh at the protagonists and chat. However, there are also those who admire the prospects of artificial intelligence.
