Female streamer CodeMiko joins Envy Gaming

Female streamer CodeMiko joins Envy Gaming

Content creator and VTuber CodeMiko has joined the Envy Gaming organization. JustaMinx and chess players Alexandra and Andrea Botez (who stream together on the channel /BotezLIVE) are also members of the organization. Together with them, CodeMiko will move into a new streamer house where they will create content together.

Youna "CodeMiko" Kang has been streaming for only two years, but in that time she has reached almost 850K followers. Her unique content attracts many viewers: on the female streamer’s broadcasts we don't see her real appearance but a virtual avatar created by means of artificial intelligence and a special costume. Such content creators are called Vtubers.

The format itself is not widespread due to the cost of the equipment, so there are not many such streamers on the platform. Most of them create 2D characters with facial motion, but CodeMiko has a much more complex system. Her character is rendered as a 3D model by Unreal Engine, and her movements are captured via the Xsens system (the system costs over $30K). She runs the project together with a person called Technician, who handles the technical part of the avatar.

CodeMiko used to stream only with her avatar enabled, but lately she's also been streaming IRL with other popular content creators. Among the guests of her broadcasts and interviews we can see streamers pokimane, moistcr1tikal and even famous singers such as Jae Park from the k-pop group DAY6.

CodeMiko's statistics for 2021

In 2021, the female streamer amassed 5.3 million Hours Watched in 1K hours on air. The year was a successful one for her in terms of viewers increase — almost 300K people subscribed to her. Just Chatting was the most popular category for the streamer as she interacted with viewers in this category both using her avatar and showing a different, "real" part of her life. CodeMiko's Chess, GTA V and Resident Evil Village streams were also popular.
