Cult of the Lamb was one of the most hyped games of August. The roguelike single-player game from Massive Monster has gathered a lot of positive reviews since its release, and has become one of the best games of his genre in just over one month.
The goal of the game is a straightforward one. In the game, the players will assume the role of a possessed lamb that was saved from death by a stranger. To repay that stranger for saving his life, the player must create a cult in his name, and build a loyal following. With a lot of other cults in the land, the player must spread the word of his cult, and also "destroy the non-believers". To put it simply, the players must create a cult, spread its influence, and make it the biggest cult in the world.
Despite being released on the 11th of August, some big streamers such as CohhCarnage, alanzoka, sodapoppin, ZeratoR, and many other popular streamers received early access to the game. They didn't lose any time and started to play the game straight away. Almost every single one of them had high praises for the game, and enjoyed the time they spent playing Cult of the Lamb.

Currently Cult of the Lamb is the fifteen most played game on Twitch, with 20 million HW, and 157.7K simultaneous viewers. It also has 27K Average Viewers, and is ahead of games such as Teamfight Tactics, Lost Ark, Hearthstone, Path of Exile, Rocket League, and Escape From Tarkov. With numbers like these, it's safe to say that since its release that the game has been a huge success. It still hasn't been a month since the game as been released, but it has already entered the top 20 most watched game list on Twitch. Something most games can only dream about.
Cult of the Lamb had a huge boom on its release date on the 11th of August. On that day the game had 157K PV, and 56K Average Viewers. It was by far the best viewership day for the game. Since then the game has seen a significant decline.
In its release week, the game had viewers watching the game for 9.3 million hours, the 12th most watched game on the streaming platform. The second week since the game release saw that HW number drop significantly. This time the viewers watched for 5.3 million hours, and the game dropped down to 14th place on the list. In the last week of August, the numbers continued to drop, with the game having 3.1 million HW, and dropping out of the top twenty list, staying at 24th place.
This proves that despite being a very popular game Cult of the Lamb is losing a little bit of steam, and has been continuing to fall in every viewership category since its release week.
Cult of the Lamb Most Watched Streamers
As mentioned before, some streamers received early access to the game, and started playing it on the 4th of August. These streamers played a very important part in hyping up the game before its release, and for the amazing viewership numbers that Cult of the Lamb saw in its first week after officially releasing.
CohhCarnage was the most watched streamer when it comes to Cult of the Lamb. The very well know variety streamer had viewers watching his stream for 370K hours, and streamed for 31 hours. In second place we have one of the biggest Brazilian streamers in alanzoka, which is also a very well know variety streamer that has great viewership numbers, independently of the game he is playing. Alanzoka viewers watched him play Cult of the Lamb for 235K hours, and the streamer broadcasted the game for 14 hours. To finish the top three we have Japanese streamer 加藤純一です, who had 229K HW, and streamed for 13 hours.
What is very curious is that the list is not dominated by English-speaking streamers. Alanzoka and Cellbit are both Brazilian streamers, and are also very close friends. 加藤純一です and k4sen are both Japanese streamers, two of the biggest in the country, and they also make it into the top ten list. Two of the biggest streamers in South Korea also make the list. They are 풍월량 and 한동숙. ZeratoR which is one of the biggest streamers in France is the last entry on the list. This proves that Cult of the Lamb was loved by streamers from all around the globe, and from very different cultures.
Cult of the Lamb Most Popular Streamers
When it comes to the streamers which had the most simultaneous viewers, the throne goes to 加藤純一です with 28K PV. He also placed in the top three in hours watched, and it's clear he had a massive contribution to the good viewership numbers of the game. In second place we have LIRIK, one of the biggest names on Twitch, he had 26K simultaneous viewers, but he only streamed the game for 4 hours, which explains him not entering in the top ten when it comes to HW. Cellbit closes the top three. The Brazilian content creator had 25K simultaneous viewers, and streamed the game for 13 hours.
Just like the previous list, this one is also very diverse, with streamers from all around the globe, and most of the streamers that made the top ten in the HW list also entered this list.
